Meditation No. 5 in D minor by Petr Chaloupsky

Inspired by a recording of James Flores (@contrabourdon) and his take on learning and recording new music on his YouTube channel, I went in search of some free contemporary music for the organ (limited budget for new music at the moment). I came across the music of Petr Chaloupsky by chance at http://www.chaloupsky.op.cz/. He is choir director and organist at the Church of St. Jijil in Prague. I downloaded a couple works and have started working on them. This Meditation is copyrighted in the early 2000's and has an improvisational feel to it. Over fairly static and traditional harmonies in the swell with strings and celeste, a flute 8' and 4' combination floats. Occasionally, some unexpected and even jarring harmonies do occur. I hope you enjoy.
