June 23, 2022--Pavan: The Earl of Salisbury by William Byrd
A different piece today. Originally written for the harpsichord or clavichord, there are many arrangements of the dance tune The Earl of Salisbury Pavan by the late Renaissance composer William Byrd. This particular one was done by Gilbert Martin, I think. It is pretty faithful to the original, with a couple of changes in manuals at repetitions or changes in the form. I hope you enjoy it.
