A mother's day celebration

Mother is the best person that every child should have.

May 14, second Sunday of the month, Philippines and other countries are celebrating Mother's day.

For four years being a mother, I haven't experienced celebrating a mother's day. I am used to it that Mother's day is the same as an ordinary day. But I am so happy that on the fifth year of being a mother, yesterday at last we have a simple yet memorable mother's day celebration.

My sister in law is the one who initiated a celebration. She asked in our family group chat, what's the plan for mother's day? I then replied, I am used to have it as a usual day. Then my brother said, we will celebrate mother's day this time for a change.

I felt excited because at last mother's day this time will be different.

The original plan is to have it celebrated in my brother's place on Sunday afternoon but around 8 in the morning they chatted me to prepare because we will go to La Vista Farm Resort.

Without hesitation, I then prepare and cook meatless spaghetti as well as gulaman as my food contribution.

My brother fetch us at home and we stopped by at Mix N' Magic to buy cake sponsored my other brother who is not with us.

While we were there, we saw a lot of different cakes, in different flavor and sizes.

I let my brother choose but he had hard time choosing so I asked how much the budget. Then I suggest we will buy that rectangular Choco moist cake. He agreed and we bought one.

Looking around I also saw these different food. They looks so yummy and pricey for me.

We then proceed to La Vista Farm Resort (I will make a different blog about the whole resort) and all of them were already there.

I greeted all the mother's there, my mother, my sister and my sister in law's grandmother. They did the same to me and it was a great time.

We opened the cake and all of us were delighted to read the greeting on the cake.

Picture taking followed to have a simple remembrance of that first mother's day celebration in our family. Hopefully we will celebrate more mother's day to come.

Since it was an abrupt decision to go swimming, we just cook some food. We just bring our own utensils and own rice. My brother cooked chicken adobo and bihon, while me cooked meatless spaghetti. They just buy one pack of juice for our drinks and water. Then, the highlights of all, is the cake sponsored by my brother who is not around because he is working at other place.

We really had fun at the pool plus it rains in the afternoon that made the swimming more fun.

A simple celebration like this will really make the mothers happy. It makes the day extra special that at least for one day, we mother's could relax for a while from our work, from house chores and for thinking about anything except enjoying the moment.

Mother is the best person that every child should have. A mother, most of the time is weak by nature but they're the strongest person we could rely on specially when we have problems. They are our first teacher, our nurse, our doctor, our accountant, our engineer who mold us to be a better person in the future and anything you can think of that our mother can do.
