FLORES DE MAYO

Flores de Mayo takes place every May (Spanish for "Flowers of May"). This is a festival celebrated in the Philippines as part of May devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The engagement team at my workplace has created new activities for each cluster to showcase the skills of the employees. Each cluster must create a Flores De Mayo photo booth with a floral theme. We used papers to make these flowers, Japanese paper to make these yellow chains, paper for leaves designed on the side of the isle, and yellow cloth in the center. We all helped each other to make these. Then, on the day of the photo shoot, we were all instructed to dress in floral attire. Guess what? This time, our cluster won! We won 5,000 pesos worth of goods to be distributed among all teams in our cluster. It was a truly wonderful activity because it helped the stress fade away for a short moment. The engagement team's hard work and concern is greatly appreciated. Not only because of the rewards, but also because they make us feel like we're a part of the team and are willing to share some of our creative abilities for an occasion like this at work. I hope that this kind of culture can be implemented in some offices so that employees can have fun at work while maintaining a work-life balance. Cheers to more fun activities at work!
