I'm writing a book about Social Media! [#Maynia Announcement]

In just a couple of hours, it will be May 1st in Suriname.

That means that #Maynia is about to start. In short:
Maynia is a month-long writing challenge in which aspiring writers try to write 50,000 words towards a complete story by the end of May. The daily goal is approximately 1613 words, though you can do more or less each day as long as you reach the golden 50,000 mark.

So, what will be my approach this upcoming month? I have been trying to write a book on Social Media in Suriname for about 5 years now. And with trying, I actually just mean 'thinking about it'. I never seem to start and it is becoming this huge mountain that is just staring me straight in the face. I have been lecturing about Social Media on College level over the past 7 years and everything I want to put in the book has been covered during one of my classes already, the only thing I haven't done, is actually write it down. With #Maynia, I'll write the raw versions of all the different chapters and hopefully by the end of the month, it will be cohesive enough to transform into an actual book.

To actually have proper structure, I've created 31 story ideas that I want to write about or of which I think they will be useful for the book. I will note that the first part will be about how Social Media in general has developed in my eyes and the second part will specifically focus on Social Media development in Suriname, the country that I live in. This of course will present with the question if it will end up being one or two books.

Without further ado, the topics I'll be writing about from May 1st until May 31st, 2020:
