Part II: Complex Female Dictionary: Yes Means No, No Means Yes

This is the continuation of the first blog I wrote about Complex Female Dictionary. If you haven't read it yet, here's the link:

So the couple arrived late for the wedding. As a result, they just went to the reception instead.

Scenario:
The wife is still giving silent treatment to the husband. So the husband adjusts and tries to lighten his wife's mood and asks: "Can I get you something?". The wife responds:

No, you don't need to get me anything.

Men, what she truly means is you need to get her favorite food. Give her something to please her. Again, you must listen to the tone of her voice. That speaks a lot. You have to determine what's underneath that line.

I know, it's really hard 😆

Scenario: The couple is alone at the table on the edge. The husband saw his college buddies 5 tables away. He asks his wife: " Love, can I go to my friends and catch up for a while. Will it be okay?". The wife answers:

Okay, have fun / do what you want

That means to say, don't leave her alone. Be sensitive enough. Think how would she feel if you left her with no one to talk to.

However, it still varies on your girl's personality. If she's sanguine, then it would be less of an issue to leave her alone.

Scenario: The husband realizes that what he did would make his wife feel bad, so he tells her: "I'll just stay here na lang". The wife responds:

Forget it

Some guys would take it as a go signal and take it literally but what she's trying to say is you made her feel bad and she expects you to apologize.

This is very common among women. I'm guilty of this. When I say, "Forget it", "Huwag na" "Ayaw na oy", that means something and so I expect you to make it up to me.

Scenario: When they arrived home, the wife says:

We need to talk

Talking is an understatement. It's more like, you need to listen to her and just shut up your mouth.

This is the time when girls would explain how they felt and what went wrong.

You should also acknowledge your actions towards it and understand how girls behave in such circumstances.

Scenario: So when everything is okay now after opening up their feelings, the husband started talking about his college classmates he saw during the wedding. He tells his wife: "Rose was a very close friend of mine back in the days. We used to be best buddies along with the group". The wife responds:

Do you think she's pretty?

Men, watch out for your answers. I bet the majority of men would be logical and factual in their answers. However, the meaning behind that question is, that she's jealous.

She expects you to assure her that she's prettier than your classmate.

Another one would be, that girls like to ask questions about the guy's past relationships, and if he tells about it and finds out that they had great love, that would make them feel jealous. 😆

Scenario: A couple just celebrated their 1st anniversary as lovers. While having dinner, the girl asks her boyfriend:

So where do you see this relationship going?

A lot of guys fail to understand and answer this. I guess because some guys just settle for MOMOL, "Make out make out lang", no label or whatever label you establish between the two of you.

This happens either way, by the way, to be fair to the guys out there. Some women would settle for just "in the zone".

Going back, the girl asks for assurance or commitment to the relationship. She wants to know if the guy is serious and is planning for marriage soon.

Scenario: The guy asks the girl to have a dinner date again next week. He asks: " Can we have a dinner date again by next week if you're free?" The girl responds:

We can still be friends

Well, that's a friendly way of saying, "You're dumped". 😆😆

Kidding aside, girls would always say that if they don't like the guy to pursue them.

It's better to be just friends to not complicate things.

Scenario: The couple went on a date and the guy noticed his girlfriend's body language. She seems stiff and cold. The guy confronts the girl, then the girl responds:

It's not you, it's me

This is a classic breakup statement. This also works either way. The girl would also mean that it's really her who has the problem. The same goes for the guy.

As time went by, you noticed each other's attitude that you can't take it any longer so you decide to just call it off.

Last scenario: The guy invites his officemate for a lunch date. The girl replies:

I'm not looking to date anyone right now

It's clear. The girl is not interested to you. She's got some reasons but that's usually how a girl would respond to a guy she doesn't like.

So that's it! Those are just common scenarios you would encounter in how women behave in such situations. Be it your guidelines and I hope you find it helpful.
