Is happiness a choice, or is it the product of a series of things aligning in your life so that you ultimately achieve the result you expect? That's the question the protagonist of this anime seems to be asking himself. This is important because today we're going to talk about a special three-episode mini-series related to this unique and highly artistic anime, where a young man is determined to find the perfect life at university. To achieve this, in each episode he tries to do something different in a sort of time loop; that is, he attempts different things, and depending on the decisions he makes, that part of his life will be either a success or a complete failure (always the latter).

La felicidad es una decisión o es producto de una serie de cosas que se alinean en tu vida para que al final tengas el resultado que esperas? - pues esa es la pregunta que parece que se hace el protagonista de este anime. Esto es importante porque el día de hoy vamos a hablar de un especial de 3 mini episodios que tienen que ver con este particular y muy artístico anime en donde un joven está empeñado en encontrar la vida perfecta en su universidad y para ello en todos los episodios busca hacer algo diferente en un especie de bucle temporal, es decir, intenta hacer algo distinto y según las decisiones que tome pues esa parte de su vida será un éxito o un rotundo fracaso (siempre es lo último).

This anime is one of those that's unusual to watch because of its visual style, characterized by its fast pace, requiring maximum attention. It's a Madhouse production, which you'll notice in the characters' faces and facial expressions. I watched it because I think it can be a great introduction to anime, which only has 11 episodes. Here we'll see just 3 episodes, each featuring a very different story. Besides the protagonist, we'll meet Ozu, his incredibly misbehaving and disastrous friend, and Akashi, an engineering student who is extremely cold but can be sweet to Watashi at times.

Este anime es de esos que son extraños de ver por el estilo visual que tiene y es que se caracteriza por ser muy rápido por lo que la atención tiene que estar al máximo. Es una producción de Madhouse, si lo van a notar en las caras y en las expresiones faciales. Realmente lo vi porque creo que puede ser una entrada de llenos al anime que solo tiene 11 episodios. Acá solo veremos 3 capítulos en donde veremos 3 historias, todas muy diferentes entre si, en donde además del protagonista veremos a Ozu, amigo super mal portado y desastroso y a Akashi, una estudiante de ingeniería que es sumamente fría pero a veces si puede ser dulce con Watashi.

The three stories are completely unrelated; they're entirely random, with Watashi always trying to solve a problem. The common thread is the presence of a submarine in each story. It's used to try to prevent a melting ice cap, to stop a group of perverts spying on women in the baths, and finally, to take on a simple fishing trip that doesn't go as planned. Besides the submarine, the common element is the decisions—good or bad—that are made, and these decisions determine whether the adventures end up being positive. Ultimately, it's all about accepting things as they are, despite whatever might happen along the way, and knowing how to face the consequences, whatever they may be. Keep in mind that these episodes are short, about 7 minutes each, but that's more than enough to understand the dynamics and nature of the anime.

Las tres historias no tienen nada que ver una con las otras, son cosas totalmente random en donde Watashi siempre busca resolver algo. La particularidad es que en todos hay un submarino, con él se buscará prevenir un deshielo, evitar que un grupo de pervertidos espíen a las mujeres en los baños y el último un simple paseo a pescar que no sale como se espera. Además del submarino lo común son las decisiones, buenas o malas, que se toman y es que de ellas dependen que las aventuras que terminan teniendo sean positivas. Al final todo esto va de acerca de la aceptación de las cosas a pesar de todo lo que pueda pasar en el camino, es saber afrontar los resultados sea cuales sean. Tienen que tener en cuenta que estos capítulos son cortos, unos 7 minutos cada uno, pero que son más que suficientes para entender la dinámica y la naturaleza del anime.

The visuals are the coolest thing about it. It might seem strange to some, but when we see things that are completely different from what we're used to, it can be quite a shock. Artistic anime should be more common; this is similar to Mononoke, that anime about the apothecary who exorcises demons. It's like the animation is based on the sketches of the drawings. It's unique, folks. As for the tone, I think comedy predominates. I think everything that happens can border on the absurd, and that's what makes it funny. The interactions between everyone are also very comical. As for the content, it's super refreshing to watch.

Lo visual es lo más cool. Puede que para algunos sea algo extraño pero cuando vemos estas cosas completamente diferentes a lo que estamos acostumbrados puede ser un impacto. Los anime artísticos tienen que ser más comunes, esto es algo parecido a Mononoke, aquel anime del boticario que exorciza demonios. Es como que la animación es hecha con base en los bocetos de los dibujos. Es unico amigos. En cuanto al tono creo que lo que predomina es la comedia, creo que todo lo que pasa puede caer en lo absurdo y eso da risa, las interacciones entre todos también son muy cómicas; en cuanto al contenido es algo super fresco de ver.

I think I've stumbled upon a real gem that's definitely worth checking out. I've always said it, but the world of anime offers endless possibilities, and finding such peculiar and well-crafted stories among them, however "strange" they may be, is incredibly cool, at least for me. If you want to see something out of the ordinary, to view anime with fresh eyes, far removed from the usual big-budget animation, then this is for you; it might even serve as a kind of reset. I'll leave the trailer here so you can get a general idea of what it's about and realize just how unique it is.

Creo que di con una rareza que vale la pena verla. Siempre lo he dicho pero el mundo del anime da para infinitas cosas y que dentro de esas cosas estén estas historias tan peculiares y bien hechas dentro de lo "extrañas" que puedan ser es algo muy cool, por lo menos para mi. Si quieren ver algo fuera de lo normal, ver el anime con otros ojos muy lejos de las grandes animaciones pues esto es para ustedes; puede que sirva como una especie de reset. Les voy a dejar el tráiler para que más o menos vean de que trata y se den cuenta lo particular que es.
