Yo creo que para nadie es una sorpresa semejante afirmación después de lo visto el fin de semana pasado y el final de temporada que nos brindaron los equipos que estuvieron involucrados hasta el último momento. Equipos que buscaban ser campeones, equipos que buscaban entrar en los puestos de Champions League y hasta la lucha por el descenso estuvo reñida en estas instancias finales de la temporada. Por todas estas cosas y otras muchas más es que definitivamente afirmo que estamos ante la mejor liga de todo el planeta.

El nivel y el modo de juego, la competitividad que hay entre los equipos y esto deriva en la igualdad que puede haber entre un equipo que está en los primeros puestos en relación con los últimos de la tabla y que aun así les aseguro que ese partido no será aburrido, por todo eso es que la Premier está varios escalones por encima del resto de Europa.

Eran dos partidos claves, el primero el Manchester City que se enfrentaba al Aston Villa, equipo dirigido por Steven Gerrard, un ex jugador del Liverpool que yo creo que sin expresarlo siente más la camiseta de los Reds que muchos y que podía hacerle el trabajo a su equipo de la vida y ayudarlo a ser campeón. Y el segundo era el Liverpool vs Wolves en donde los dirigidos por Klopp no tenían otra opción que ganar, no servía otro resultado más que la victoria.

El Manchester City estaba perdiendo 2-0 faltando veinte minutos para que se terminara el partido donde uno de los goles lo había hecho Coutinho, ex jugador también del Liverpool y todo se estaba armando para que fuera un día perfecto para los Reds pero a un equipo de las características del City no se le puede dar por muerto tan fácilmente y cuando ya todo parecía estar sentenciado llegó la magia de Guardiola y sus dirigidos para remontar un juego que no había sido el mejor de los ciudadanos. Creo que la presión y la ansiedad en muchos pasajes del encuentro les jugó en contra y eso se vio reflejado especialmente en el primer tiempo donde se les vio dubitativos, nerviosos y algo erráticos.

Para cuando los Reds remontaron, pasado el minuto ochenta, ya el milagro estaba consumado en el Etihad y ellos lo sabían por lo que más no se podía hacer. Los de Klopp cumplieron y ganaron su partido, terminaron segundos a tan solo un punto del campeón por lo que para mi no hay nada que reprochar.

Como diría el comentarista de ESPN "Bendita sea la Premier" y no puedo estar más de acuerdo con él. Desde hace un tiempo me he enfocado en ver más partidos de esta liga y la verdad es que la diferencia es abismal es casi todos los sentidos. Para mi el aspecto más atractivo de una liga es su competitividad, ya lo dije anteriormente, y que hasta el minuto ochenta en ambos partidos se hayan dado estos resultados me parece increíble. Y no estamos hablando de que eran rivales "top", eran equipos de mitad de tabla para abajo y aun así dieron par de partidazos. Porque la Premier es así, cualquier equipo te puede sorprender y no porque el equipo grande haya jugado mal sino porque el más "pequeño" tiene la capacidad de hacer frente con lo que tenga.

Se imaginan un PSG-Montpellier, un Bayern-Stuttgart o hasta un Real Madrid-Elche bajo estas mismas condiciones? - yo no tengo dudas de que sería de lo más aburrido y predecible del futbol, evidentemente me puedo equivocar porque al final el balón es redondo y caprichoso pero estoy seguro que no sería tan llamativo como lo que vivimos el domingo en Inglaterra. A nivel de espectáculo la Premier no tiene comparación y a nivel de calidad futbolística tampoco. Los nombres que jueguen en ella no hacen una liga ni el dinero que muchos dueños de equipos puedan tener, son muchas cosas más, algunas las nombré en esta publicación, las que hacen que la Premier League sea la excelencia hecho futbol.

No me puedo imaginar el city de la siguiente temporada...si ya venían siendo un equipo, un bloque temido muy potente, ahora con la incorporación de Álvarez, Haaland y los que ya están como phoeden tienen un proyecto bastante bueno...por ahí leí que les interesa renovar a Guardiola "por siempre" hehehe, enamorados cien por ciento.
El plus del City es que Pep ha sabido armar un proyecto a largo plazo y eso se está viendo reflejado. La cosa es que ellos son un equipo de Ligas y no de Copas, no tiene nada de malo porque hay muchos que son así. Veremos que pasa con Haaland ahora...
