Era el fin de semana de uno de los premios más históricos e importantes en toda la Formula 1, el que se corre en la pista del Autódromo Nacional de Monza en Italia y en donde esperábamos ver otra batalla épica por la punta del campeonato mundial entre Verstappen y Hamilton, la cuestión es que no fue así y terminamos viendo una de las carreras con más altibajos y sorpresas de los últimos meses.

Estamos en un premio en donde McLaren volvió a revivir sus grandes tiempos llevándose el 1-2 del podio de la mano de Daniel Ricciardo y Lando Norris respectivamente y una suma importante de puntos para consolidarse en el tercer lugar por sobre la Ferrari en la competencia al mejor equipo. Y es que todo esto empezó en la carrera sprint del día sábado donde Bottas fue el ganador pero por un cambio de motor se tuvo que ir al último puesto dejando en la primera fila al neerlandés y al australiano.

La gran victoria de Ricciardo del día domingo no fue producto del azar, suerte o circunstancias que se dan a lo largo de las carreras, fue gracias a la excelente salida que tuvo el australiano quien estando de segundo tuvo la capacidad de aventajar a Verstappen para así quedarse con el primer puesto durante toda la carrera. Por otro lado el actual campeón Lewis Hamilton había salido en la cuarta posición por lo que se tarea principal era superar a Lando Norris cosa que durante todo el fin de semana fue un verdadero dolor de cabeza para el británico.

Ricciardo's great victory on Sunday was not a product of chance, luck or circumstances that occur throughout the races, it was thanks to the excellent start that had the Australian who being second had the ability to overtake Verstappen to stay in first place throughout the race. La verdad es que la estrategia de McLaren durante toda la carrera fue muy buena porque decidieron parar a Ricciardo primero que todos los demás en la vuelta 23 para ponerle gomas duras y con ellas tratar de ir hasta el final y terminar la carrera. Red Bull por su parte no tenía contemplado detener a Max pero este no tenía más ruedas para seguir así que lo mandaron a los pits en una para desastrosa de 11 segundos, ahí se le fue la carrera y toda oportunidad de ganar al neerlandés.

Oportunidad dorada para Hamilton quien se frotaba las manos porque todo parecía estar en orden para que sin ningún tipo de contratiempo logrará otra victoria más en Monza y es que finalmente había sido capaz de adelantar a Norris. Pero todo cambió en cuestión de segundos cuando uno de los accidentes y choques más sonados y polémicos en los últimos años de la F1 se vivieron en la pista.

Todo comenzó después de que Hamilton saliera del pit-lane tras haberle puesto cauchos de goma media y así adelantar a Verstappen y materializar el triunfo pero justamente al salir Hamilton no solo tenía que defenderse de Norris sino que de Max también. Llegan a la primera curva o variante y es ahí cuando Max se le va encima al de Mercedes y tras unas maniobras pasó lo inevitable y ocurrió el choque. Fue muy parecido a lo sucedido en Silverstone con la diferencia que en esta oportunidad abandonaron los dos pilotos.

It all started after Hamilton came out of the pit-lane after having put medium rubber tires and thus overtake Verstappen and materialize the triumph but just when Hamilton had to defend himself not only from Norris but also from Max. They reached the first corner or variant and that's when Max goes over the Mercedes driver and after some maneuvers the inevitable happened and the crash occurred. It was very similar to what happened at Silverstone with the difference that this time both drivers abandoned.

La investigación por parte de los comisarios dieron como resultado una penalización para Verstappen de TRES posiciones para el próximo premio que será en Rusia a finales de este mes de Septiembre. La cosa es que todo esto que ocurrió allanó el camino para que se armara otra carrera muy interesante con los McLaren, un Bottas que venía remontando y una pelea entre Leclerc y el Checo Perez.

The investigation by the stewards resulted in a penalty for Verstappen of THREE positions for the next race in Russia at the end of September. The thing is that all this happened paved the way for another very interesting race with the McLaren, a Bottas who was coming back and a fight between Leclerc and Checo Perez.

Fue así como Ricciardo celebró su victoria después de aquel premio de Mónaco en el 2018 y además se llevó el punto extra al hacer la vuelta más rápida del circuito. En el podio lo acompañó, como ya les dije, su compañero de equipo Norris y en el tercer lugar Valtteri Bottas después de una remontada de locos. Después de esto tenemos una clasificación un poco más cerrada en especial la lucha por el tercer puesto que está en manos de Bottas con 141 puntos seguido muy de cerca por Norris con 132. Ricciardo luego de su victoria se coloca octavo con 83 puntos.

That was how Ricciardo celebrated his victory after that Monaco prize in 2018 and also took the extra point by doing the fastest lap of the circuit. He was joined on the podium by, as I told you, his teammate Norris and in third place Valtteri Bottas after a crazy comeback. After this we have a classification a little more closed especially the fight for third place which is in the hands of Bottas with 141 points followed closely by Norris with 132. Ricciardo after his victory is placed eighth with 83 points.
