(ESP-ENG) El Multiverso real está en "Everything Everywhere All at Once" // The true Multiverse is in "Everything Everywhere All at Once"
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
Today I bring you one of the reviews that I had more hype and desire to do and this is because we are facing one of the films that has given more to talk about in recent weeks/months and not exactly because it is bad. Obviously at the beginning I didn't understand why everyone was talking about this film and without much effort they were calling it one of the best films of the year. All this caught my attention so I had the obligation to see it but there was also another factor and that is that the production company A24 is behind all this.
For those who don't know this company, A24, is one of the best in what they do, they were in charge of works like: Midsommar, The Lighthouse, The Green Knight, Uncut Gems, the second season of Euphoria, among others being all these works really gems in this world. So in effect this was yet another reason to see this film. I have to say before I start that this movie reset my brain, I was blown away by the incredible work that was done with this film and just as the title of this post says, this is the true Multiverse, there is no other. But without further ado, let's talk about what you'll find here...
This crazy story begins with Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh) who is a woman of Chinese descent who is going through some economic problems in the United States. These inconveniences are making her feel a bit defeated and hopeless and this ultimately ends up affecting her whole family in the same way. The daughter has her problems, the husband has his problems and there never seems to be a right time to talk about everything because of the intense hectic life that Evelyn leads trying to keep her business going.
But all this changes when suddenly our protagonist is involved in an adventure a little difficult to assimilate, an adventure in which only she is able to save the entire structure of the Multiverse. The thing is that there is a very powerful threat that is threatening reality as it is known and it is Evelyn who must manage to channel a series of powers product of several trips to the different worlds that she will have to do. These worlds are other versions of herself with their different lives and realities. The plot may seem a bit complicated at first but as the film progresses you will realize how everything comes together and that you are watching a five star movie.
In the cinema there are several Multiverses, the best known is Marvel's with Doctor Strange but, what if I told you that this movie is 10 times better than the last Marvel release? - Some will think I'm crazy and that this is not possible but friends, actually and I say this because I saw these two movies, I can say that this production with its story and especially its message I liked much more. Obviously they are very different things and even not comparable, but in a very general and basic context I think I enjoyed this plot a little more. But what makes it so special? - Well, it's a series of many things. I start with the fact that a lot of what you will see is totally absurd and without any kind of sense but that's what makes it great, how unpredictable it is.
All this apparent nonsense, which in the end is not, is accompanied by touches of comedy very characteristic, some action scenes impressively well done and a very deep drama that is what leads to the great message that the film leaves us at the end. Because yes, it is not a story for you to laugh or to be enraptured with the fights that take place, it is for you to take that message and apply it in your life and thanks to it you will be a better person.
One of the things that impressed me the most was the way they handled the whole Multiverse theme, I would dare to say it's like a mix between Matrix and everything known from Marvel. The way they spun all the different lives to work as a function of one without losing the sense of the plot is something to be applauded. Because don't get me wrong when I talked about the absurdity, by that I meant and you will understand when you see it and if you already have, that throughout the film so many things happen that to get from point A to point B it is necessary for the characters to act in a certain way and it is specific actions that make the film incredible.
Actions that are bathed in comedy but beware that there are also flashes of horror and suspense, all within the very particular theme of the film; you could say that in a little more than two hours we can see most of the genres and all of them very well executed. Even action scenes that reminded me a bit of Jackie Chan movies, and I am not saying this in a bad way, on the contrary. It's hard to describe this movie because I don't think I've seen anything like it in a long time even though it's about the Multiverse, but it's one like it's never been shown before.
As for the characters, there is Michelle Yeoh who is an acclaimed actress and here she does splendidly. Despite the passing of time her martial arts skills are not lost, we see her in a few scenes where she proves it with flying colors. But when she is required to move on to drama, she also embroiders it very well, the final scene is a gem where more than one is likely to soften the heart a little. We also see great actors like Jamie Lee Curtis who plays Deirdre, an estate agent and the legendary James Hong who is Evelyn's father. Despite being supporting actors their roles are decisive and the truth is that you get to enjoy them, within the seriousness that often surrounds them you laugh easily, everything is very organic.
Evelyn's husband Waymond Wang (Jonathan Ke Quan) and daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) are also vital to the story, each in their own way. One is calm and is Evelyn's counterpart, the sane voice of sanity in the marriage and the daughter is the rebel who in this story has a heavy leading role that in my opinion, she carries it well. They are not very deep characters either, but they compensate with the problems they have and the solution they give to them.
In short, a film that shows us a fantastic Multiverse full of surprises, jumps of alternate realities, parallel lives and that in that way you will find violence, drama, suspense but above all a sense of belonging that tells us that despite being immersed in problems and that from one day to the next seems to be lost there will always be a way out. The truth is a film that surprised me a lot, I did not expect to like it so much.
9/10 because I already put it at the top as one of the best movies of this year 2022. Another great job for the people at A24 who never disappoint. This story has a running time of two hours and twenty minutes. As soon as you have a chance to see it, do it and for that I share with you the trailer, I assure you that you will not regret it.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

I'm glad you saw it!
it's an epic movie!!
I am glad I did too. And yes, I completely agree 💯💯
Me sorprendió bastante.
Saludos!
¡Enhorabuena!
