Drawing Shrek Donkey / Dibujando a burro de Shrek
Burro / Donkey
Hola amigos / Hello friends
Hello everyone. I recently started with the pen drawings of animated characters, a practice that I find fantastic, besides being a relaxing activity for me it helps me to improve my strokes and at the same time I always find something interesting in the character's story. Today I share with you a drawing that was a commission for a nephew, it is about donkey, the best friend of the famous ogre Shrek. However, our favorite ogre despises him on numerous occasions and gets tired of his insistence to follow him everywhere. On one occasion, he even attacks him, telling him that he is not at all surprised that he has no friends. Even so, his faithful companion always finds good words and gestures for him, and Shrek ends up realizing how important it is to have people (or donkeys) like this in our lives. A lesson we should all remember from time to time.
Here I show you the drawing process:
Initial sketch with 2H pencil. Previously my initial sketches had more details in pencil, little by little I have tried to make them simpler, that saves me work when sketching and helps me to improve when inking since I don't have to erase so much the marks left by the pencil.
Starting the drawing with the eyes is important for me, I think they are the most important elements that give life to the character if they fit well the rest becomes easier to do.
