Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!

This is my 38th week contributing to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 103 overall!

In all of my TTT entries I like to play the songs on guitar as well as share the original videos... and I have a new pattern for "Three Tune Tuesday" where I pick three songs by one of my favourite artists, that has inspired me - as I also write original songs.

This week I would like to pick John Lennon... after he went solo (let's leave The Beatles for another week!)

Of course "Imagine" has to be one of the songs, but let's leave it to the end! Let's start with the beautiful song "Jealous Guy"... Here is the original:

After that, let's try a song with a very simple chord structure (literally A-minor to G-major and back! Hahaha) but some very amazing lyrics over that. Some younger people might think that "Working Class Hero" is a Green Day song... but no, they were covering John Lennon! Here is the original:

Finally, let's get around to the inevitable "Imagine". This is usually on lists that try to sum up the best songs ever written. It can be a bit of a controversial song... is it asking for full blown Communism that usually tries to get rid of religion and private ownership of possessions... or is it just advocating for Peace and the end to all the conflicts that have been fought over boundaries, possessions and Religion? Either way, it is an amazing song. Here is the original:

Sadly, John Lennon was assassinated in 1980... Imagine what other songs he might still have written?...

So that's week 103 done and dusted! I hope you enjoyed the John Lennon songs! Which song was your favourite? Did I miss an important one to you?

And so, which artist will I do three covers of next week, for TTT number 104? I hope you tune in to find out and thank you so much for clicking/watching/reading this time!!

for sure john lennon is one of the best artists of all time! You brought 3 classics from this guy! Probably Green Day covered that song because it the chords are simple (all their songs are like that lol)

Working class hero! Fantastic! What a song, simple Aminor G and back. So affective! That song inspired me to write on of my own called “dead man’s arrival which I posted last week :)

Great choices bro! Well played 👍
And well done for the 38 weeks contribution! Is that in a row??
Tuesdays must be a good day for you haha ;)

Yes actually I have managed to do 38 in a row! I actually have done all of them on Tuesdays so far but perhaps I should get in a habit of preparing the video on the weekend... It will probably get more challenging to do 3 songs in a row if I have to learn more than one of them!!

Nice covers! You did Imagine really, really well; it retained it's emotion, but you were also able to make it your own. Awesome stuff, as always, every week.

Thank you so much! John Lennon is also somebody I could theoretically come back to one day... But let's try and do a lot of other acts first!

I cant imagine the amount of effort you put in to be able to put out this great content. the fact that you were calm and confident through out the presentation is a thing of motivation for me, cause i often get flustered when I am presenting.
great work!

Thank you so much! I definitely have to do more than one take sometimes, especially with these videos where I do 3 songs in a row!

Bravo man, these John Lennon songs really suit your voice and you delivered them very well. I agree about Working Class Hero, an absolute classic for the ages and such a simple chord structure too, quality. Nearly 43 years now since he died, hard to believe, but I guess that the beauty of music is that he will live on forever through his music.
