This Is Thursday Right?

Well, like that guy who cracks open a beer at 10am and says "It's 5 O'clock somewhere in the world!" It's probably Thursday somewhere in the world.

Yeah I was thinking this was Thursday and had a post all ready for the wonderful @whatisnew's Butterfly and Insect Day post and then I realized it was only Wednesday.

Obviously I've been slacking off on my brain sharpening exercises.

Nevertheless, here's an interesting insect that I came across. Not here in North Texas...I haven't seen anything but a plain brown moth that looked like dirt.. for months now.

No, this gorgeous insect hails from South Africa and I think they also have them in Thailand. They're called a Flower Mantis:

They're rather extraordinary in that they're camouflaged to look like flowers so insects will land on them or next to them and ZAP! They're history.

Pretty cool huh? Here's a face shot for you whatisnew!

Flies don't have a chance around these things. Totally fakes 'em out!

I wish we had something this incredible here. But then I'd probably accidentally kill 'em or Jack would eat 'em. Not accidentally. lol.

Howdy violetmed! I reckon you haven't seen that one in Texas yet! Maybe they could be imported? Keep a few at that butterfly place in McKinney.

I guess I could mimic all the wonderfully beautiful like comments below, which these insects are, or I could say thank goodness you didn't tune us into some really creepy, hairy, foot long looking spider. lol

I was amazed at those beautiful creatures Butterfly and the way they deceive insects with their camouflage is very impressive! I'm so glad you liked it. What are the big plans for the weekend?

Is it snowing there? How much are you supposed to get?

I'm working on steemit for a few hours and then I'll switch to some outside work, gotta cut down some stumps with an axe(I like doing things the old fashioned way) and then watch an NFL playoff game.

What a beautiful little critter. The flower mantis is like a chameleon. I could use some here in the summer to eat flies and ants.

Yes, they would be beautiful fly catchers.. and probably mosquitoes too!

Janton, I think that I would have a hard time trying to find one of these very pretty flower insects to take a photo too. I never knew they existed!

Aren't they amazing? I'd never see that thing either, I'd think it was a flower and then it would fly away!

Well, great pictures @janton!
But, I must say you cunningly colored them and gave them their make-up for the photo-shoot! Haha!

Please tell us the location (rough GPS co-ordinates) of the finding if possible! Thanks for this in advance!!

Anyways, nice job! Your post has been supported by Steem Biodiversity Project (SBioP).

Howdy bioportal.steem! Thanks so much for the support. Unfortunately I don't know the GPS locations of where they are, I read that they were found in South Africa and Thailand but that is all I know.

Howdy again Miss Lena! Oh, Canada is too far North for the praying mantis to live? I wouldn't doubt it, they are smart! lol. Today's post is about an invention from Canada, I hope you like it.

Oh I see, I'm so sorry for the turmoil and suffering that is going on there, I was reading about the difficult task of just getting propane gas tanks filled as explained by sir @hlezama in his posts. It's just astounding and depressing.

Praying Mantis

Has always been one of my faves. They were everywhere when i was a Pennsyl-Tucky farmboy.

But I guess in this Libtard World they would try to remove the Religion from them nowadays. Just call em a......

Oh I love the Huddle House! But I haven't had anything but breakfasts there. The one here looks like they only hire ex cons right out of the joint. lol.

Oh sorry for insinuating that you weren't working, my bad. I thought you might have gotten addicted to staying home or something normal like that.

Thanks so much for the kind words sir krazzytrukker! lol. You have alot of hilarious stuff, can't wait till you have more time to be on here but then maybe steemit won't even be here. We'll have to find another place if that's true.
