In the clouds and...

Missing you. MyTBT, from today.

I remember like my husband and I, that vacation from 6 am exercising, when the first rays of the sun were just coming out, from the beaches, the water and the Caribbean on the island of Margarita, Anzoátegui state.

Life sometimes shakes me, shakes me.

Having a noble, profound goal that shakes you up daily and keeps you focused changes your life. It relieves the mortification with the memories, the moments I have from those days, on holidays, when "we went once a year every year". That wasn't the only trip. How we enjoy and enjoy. I miss those 4-day long weekend getaways.

When we arrived at Margarita Island, the first thing we did was go to the counselors' market, because I learned from my parents that it was not conceivable to visit a town or a city without knowing its markets. That's where you understand his people."

Then I lived the remodeling and came back several times as I could. We would arrive from the airport or the ferry directly to the market, and we would do the same before leaving the island to return to my house, we would eat the last empanada or fried fish with salad and green banana toast yummy, at very supportive prices, for $4 for 6 empanadas, 2 juices and a mineral water bottle.

Margarita Island, is a beautiful place, there was a time when the sellers fell on you to go to one kiosk or another, and it became a torment and another where personal safety was critical. Then came the chaos of the crisis because of this misfortune that we all know, later the pandemic and Conejeros closed, sank into hopelessness.

But the structure held up, many sellers bet to return because it was sustenance for generations, and believe me they are doing an excellent job. Delicious, empanadas and arepas stuffed with dogfish, chicken, chicken legs, shrimp. The juices I didn't show are still the glory. Food Kiosk"tarantines" are less nowadays.

It is a delight to visit that rabbit market as a family... and the most important thing is to support the small merchant who works hard at his kiosk.

Nowadays, the one who can travel to Margarita is because he has the resources, besides eating 2 empanadas for $1 is a gift. I wish prosperity for all those people who go to work, and that they sell a lot.

This is the attitude. Enjoy the nature spaces to observe it. Just that. To lie there, in those blankets, on the shore of the beach, in front of the sea, to wait for the sunset, having a tasty conversation and sharing succulents with the only company of Mother earth, the marine aroma, and the sound of the wind, with the sole purpose of saying goodbye to the sun.

Through these TBT memories, I celebrate my life surrounded by gifts such as the sun, sea, sand, coconut water and sunsets. Enjoying every moment.

The very idea of thinking, of not having the opportunity to live and be grateful for the simple things, terrifies me. For that I live in infinite gratitude. (Or deal).

Some things last forever, one doesn't. That's why we have to find a way to value what is really valuable.

The real luxuries that I have for my existence such as traveling, going on express holidays, even on weekends, good conversations, freedom to choose, sleeping well and running in a nice hammock by the seashore.

In this market is the essence of the Margarita ladies who go to work at the stoves, it is the culinary memory of the holidays in Margarita.

Janitze.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right, that visiting local markets can help give us information about the place and the people. But what photos of the meals you have! Those empanadas look mighty fine. I hope you get a chance to continue to enjoy these places. Regards @janitzearratia

Hey @aaalviarez . Interact in a personal way with the sellers and farmers who offer their products. the origin and quality of the products are better known to its people, the culture and feeling of the people is sown in the market.
