Finding Thai Hainan Chicken At Kowloon City Hong Kong

Happy new week Hivers.

My Sunday went very well. Aside from the long hours of sleep, I had time wandering around our city and did food haunting, and winter clothes shopping, then I went back home to do a movie marathon. That was a fantastic day. But I do sounds like have a lot of money, didn't I? Believe me, I only have a few pennies in my wallet 😂.

I walked along the street with several Thai restaurants to supposedly eat Thai Curry that I could feature in my vlog. But as I spotted the restaurant I intended to dine in, I changed my mind as I realized that, I am not into curry, lol. Late realization, was it? There were Japanese and Korean restaurants in the area too.

Well, I did dine in the same restaurant but ordered a different menu. On my first visit to this restaurant, I ordered Thai curry chicken as I thought it wasn't spicy. Besides, I wanted to taste Thai-style recipes. But unfortunately, it was spicy and I didn't like it. The main reason why I changed my mind about ordering Thai curry.

I saw the menu book has Thai Hainan chicken and I haven't tried their version yet. I did try the Singaporean style, but not the Thai style. Hainan chicken is a must to try if you visit places like Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

According to Wikipedia, Hainan chicken was originally created by immigrants from Hainan. It's a poached chicken usually served with seasoned rice and chili sauce. Source

I liked Thai Hainan Chicken. It's so soft and well-poached. It was served with pumpkin soup and three sauces: chili, ginger, and sweet soy sauce. The chili sauce wasn't that spicy, and it will complement with ginger and soy sauce. Hainan chicken is eaten by dipping it into three sauces. I so loved the flavor of the chicken with three sauces.

Apart from it, I also liked the ambiance of the place. Despite the limited area, it's a place visited by known celebrities in Hong Kong. The wall with photos proved it. It even has photographs of some celebrities who visited the place.

After eating, I bought a piece of winter jacket and then went back home. I just chilled in my room while watching movies. One of them was Avatar.

So that's how my Sunday went, simple and relaxing.
