Why Working In A Coffee Shop Can Be More Productive Than Your Office

Hello Friends,

Every day, I wake up, shake the sleep off my eyes, grab the Ye-old laptop and truck to the coffee shop. Today, while sipping on a white coffee, I got to thinking about why it is better to work here than, say, in an office.

Thinking about it... Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about your favorite coffee shop? Maybe you’ve even caught yourself thinking about getting a new job so you could work there. While it’s not as cool as working on a sail boat in the Southern Pacific Ocean, working at a coffee shop might just be a more productive option than working in an office.

Coffee shops are some of the most popular places to work, and for a good reason. They offer a laid-back environment, friendly employees, and coffee. If you’re the type who loves coffee and understands that caffeine is essential to being productive, working at a coffee shop might be just what you’re looking for. But what if you’re not sure if that’s the right place for you? Here are a few reasons why I feel... working in a coffee shop can be more productive than working in an office.

People Are More Likely To Collaborate

Coffee shops are great places to work because they encourage collaboration. There’s something about being surrounded by the smell of coffee and people that brings people together. While most people go to a coffee shop to sit alone and get some work done, the atmosphere encourages people to actually interact with others. This can lead to some unexpected connections and collaborations that can spark ideas and help you think more creatively.

If you need an excuse to say hello to someone, my trick is to ask them about the WIFI - "ummm, excuse me, is the WIFI working for you?", then you have a moment to introduce yourself and say hello.

You’ll Be Outside And that inspires creativity

Working in an open-air environment can spark creativity. You’re probably familiar with the stereotype that creative people spend a lot of time sitting in cafés, drinking a lot of coffee, and writing creative stuff.

While that stereotype is somewhat true, so is the fact that creativity can come from just about anywhere. You don’t have to be a writer to be creative, you just have to be willing to be open to new ideas and ways of thinking. Working outside can inspire you to be more creative, which can be helpful for solving problems and coming up with new solutions.

Coffee Can Help You Stay Alert

If you’re like most people, you’re probably more productive when you’re alert and have a full cup of coffee in your hand. Caffeine can help you stay alert, but it can also be addictive and cause issues if you have a caffeine dependency, so try to limit the coffee intake and balance that out with some water. It’s possible to be productive without caffeine, but you’ll have to find different ways to stay alert.

You’ll Be More Connected

If you’re the type who loves socializing, then working in a coffee shop might be your new best friend. Coffee shops are connected hubs for socializing. You’ll be more likely to meet people there than at most workplaces, which means you’re more likely to make new friends and have fun. There’s nothing wrong with having fun at work, and coffee shops are a great place to do it.

Just try to be respectful to others who are working too.

The ASMR effect of working in a coffee shop

The ASMR community is a growing community of people who experience tingles while listening to certain sounds, like whispering or soft voices.

If you've never experienced ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, then you're missing out on one of the most relaxing sensations around. And what better place to experience ASMR than in a coffee shop? The slightly bitter smell of coffee beans, the whir of the espresso machine, the soft clinking of cups and saucers - it's all incredibly soothing. Or, at least I think so... The sound of the coffee beans being ground, the sound of the espresso machine, and the sound of the steaming milk all contribute to the ASMR experience for me.

Coffee Shops Are conducive to making new connections

If you’re the type who loves meeting people, going on dates, and forming friendships, working in a coffee shop is great for that. Coffee shops are a popular place to meet people. Whether you’re meeting friends or new people in your area, coffee shops are a great place to meet new people. The coffee shop environment is conducive to forming new connections, from friends to dates to colleagues.

Conclusion

If you’re the type who loves coffee, loves socializing, and loves being outside, then working in a coffee shop might be for you. The trick is to find one that really encourages collaboration and socializing. You want to be around people, not just sitting alone with your laptop all day. And you want to feel like you actually get to socialize with people, not just spend a lot of time drinking coffee. That can be tough in a coffee shop, but it’s also possible to feel like you’ve actually socialized. If you meet these criteria, then you might just find yourself more productive than working in an office.

These are my thoughts on working in a coffee shop. What are yours?

Cheers :D

I love the smell of coffee shops. Definitely inspires a "get shit done" attitude.
