Apocalyptic Homesteading (Day 473)

Hello Everyone!

A moody morning, Cleaning the solar shack, Shuffling stuff, Bye-bye canvas tent & A wee fire!

I slept in late this morning after once again staying up too late into the evening which was odd given how exhausted that I was feeling. I guess that is why I should go back to my no coffee at night rule and not bend or break said rule just so that I can finish my daily writing routine. Even with the coffee I should have been able to drift off to sleep but I just had way too much stuff on my mind and the combination kept me up 'burning the midnight oil' so to speak.

This morning I awoke feeling quite moody and even now I have way too much stuff rumbling around in my mind to really focus on this entry but alas here I am. Mainly the storage scenario is really annoying me. Or to put it more aptly my failure to come up with adequate solutions for my storage needs is what I find to be so agitating. At this point one way or another I have to solve it and yeah preferably in a way that does not see anymore of my gear getting ruined.

I do not want to get into all that stuff at the moment because I feel like I would just work myself up even further on the topic and hence compound my annoyances. Instead I am just going to take a deep breath, sigh and tell myself 'such is life' and browbeat myself into a better attitude that does not undermine my already wavering morale.

Okay, it is now about an hour after sunset and having not written anything else for this entry... I better get to it if I am going to get it done before the fatigue catches up to me. Although I tried to squeeze in a nap late this afternoon all I did was lay there with my eyes closed and never managed to drift off to sleep.

I got started working outside pretty early this morning and after doing my usual chores I once again focused on the storage scenario. Mainly I took stuff out of the solar shack, cleaned up a bunch of gross stuff left by the vermin, bleached the floor in there and then began the long process of emptying out the canvas tent.

Of course that tent also had a lot of vermin mess in it (as well as dust and dirt) and I wound up spending the bulk of the day washing stuff off and finding where the heck to put it afterwards. In the end the solar shack has now joined the shop tent in being overfilled with stuff and basically being useless for anything besides storage space and insufficient storage space at that!

By late in the day I finally got all the stuff emptied out of the tent, swept it all out and then began the process of collapsing it. Although a few of the poles had some water in them I was surprised at how well they held up and how little rust the interior of the poles had on them. The rest of the tent was not in the best of shape but overall (besides the rain fly) it held up well enough ever since my first day here.

Honestly, I am just glad that it is done and I do not have to think about it anymore even though it really puts me in a bind in several ways. Before (when the tent was in use) I was using it to store my trash in, all my animal feed, my backup water, my spare mattress and box-spring and a place for miscellaneous overflow storage. I also used it as my outhouse so yeah between all those uses it was frigging handy.

Anyway, doing all that jazz consumed my entire day and by the end of it I had a lot of burnables so I went ahead and got it all burned. A lot of it was pretty foul (because of the vermin) and I was glad that there was a steady breeze to blow the smoke away from me. I was so fed up by everything by that point in things that I did not even bother making any biochar which is something that I almost always do when making those little fires.

Well, I am just going to keep this entry short because I think that I am just too tired to do much more writing. I hope that everyone is doing well and has a nice day/night.

On the bright side the deck no longer has a tent on it!

Some green stuff is starting to grow in the dog yard!

The people doing V2K with remote neural monitoring want me to believe this lady @battleaxe is an operator. She is involved deeply with her group and @fyrstikken . Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I cant prove she is the one directly doing the V2K and RNM. Doing it requires more than one person at the least. It cant be done alone. She cant prove she is not one of the ones doing it. I was drugged in my home covertly, it ended badly. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Ask @battleaxe to prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the V2K and RNM in me is being broadcast from her location. And what the fuck is "HOMELAND SECURITY" doing about this shit? I think stumbling over their own dicks maybe? Just like they did and are doing with the Havana Syndrome https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

Seems you got quite a bit accomplished today, regardless of the moodiness...😏 Cats solved my vermin problem; I had three, plus regular strays who visit. You might try spreading mint or cloves (or combination thereof) on the floors of enclosed areas to help; that seems to help some infestation problems. I've heard that meeces are also repelled by moth-balls... they hate the smell.

Have a happy day.

Yup I can usually push on through the moody stuff. Mainly the vermin are holed up for the winter and with no snakes around they get obnoxious. That all changes in another few weeks as the snakes wake up.

Having chicken feed around has been drawing the vermin to the site and during the beginning of the winter I often get lax and skip doing routine control with the dogs.

I am only dealing with like one or two big rats in an acre's worth of woodland so its not bad. Mainly I keep the population down and try to leave some for the snakes that come out early. Preferably away from the places me and the animals are so like a tarp covered wood pile or small to large brush piles.
