Should you Cut your hands that makes you sin? : Matthew 18:8-9 Explained

Cutting Your Hands is mentioned in Matthew 18:8-9. It says to cut it off it causes you to sin. Should you? Is that really what God is trying to tell us?

All Christians use the Holy Bible as their guide, and I also believe that it is essential for all who worship Christ as their savior. Although the Bible serves as our guide for how we live, some Christians and non-Christians alike question certain content within it, deeming it difficult or even ridiculous

One example is cutting parts of your body if you sin, so that you can enter Heaven.

Matthew 18:8-9
8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Cutting Your Hands: Matthew 18:8-9 Explained
Some will explain this as cutting away, your bad habits in life that cause you to sin.

Example:

We all know that drinking alcohol can make you do crazy things and cause you to sin. Although some people enjoy it, isn’t it much better to cut away alcohol and live a clean life, rather than continue drinking alcohol, which keeps you from sinning?

Cutting Your Hands: Matthew 18:8-9 Explained
This is one of the common explanations that you will hear from other preachers, but for me, I see Matthew 18:8-9 as a warning to mankind—a warning that the payment for sin is enormous, and we shouldn’t take it lightly or think that we can escape God’s judgment

Do you think the Popes who masterminded the torture and killings of and looting from millions of innocent people during the colonial era by the European countries went to Heaven because they submitted to Jesus and followed the "correct path"? Isn't that what the Christian doctrine teaches? Empire: who sanctioned Britain's $45 trillion loot of India ? | Jeffrey Armstrong | Vedic Vidya :

I have a different perspective regarding the Pope and the Catholic Church. In my understanding, True Christians solely follow Yeshua and the Holy Bible as their Guide and not other figures such as Mary or deceased individuals.

Personally, I believe that it is not yet the time for people to ascend to heaven, except for Enoch and Elijah as recorded by the Bible. As for the Pope you mentioned, it is my opinion that their final judgment is yet to come.

Considering certain actions that may be seen as blasphemous towards God's name, I dont think they have submitted to God. I have doubts about their potential inheritance of heaven.

Not all who use Yeshua's name are true followers of Yeshua.

You mean the Popes discussed in the YouTube were following other figures such as Mary or deceased individuals? Please come up with cogent arguments and support it with evidence and don't make empty assertions without substance.

You should listen to the Mythvision Podcasts on Youtube and if you dare make your arguments there to see how it fares among the well informed.

Yes - In terms of the specific form of the rosary as it is known in the Catholic tradition today, it began to take shape in the High Middle Ages, around the 12th and 13th centuries. The use of beads for counting prayers became more structured and formalized during this period. The rosary consists of prayers to glorify Mary. The Pope in the youtube Pope Alexander VI, whose birth name was Rodrigo de Borja, reigned as Pope from August 11, 1492.

No matter how serious a person thinks they are about their beliefs, if they are practicing Christianity incorrectly, I can't consider them fellow Christians.

If they were indeed considered Christians, then why do other Christians try to convince them to leave the Catholic Church and turn away from its practices? It's like taking eggs away from your own basket and putting them in another basket that you also own, right?

You see, the truth is that no matter what religion you have in this world, the day will come when God will judge us. We can't tell Him that we are Christians. We will be judged according to how we have lived our lives in accordance with His teachings.

BTW, I'm really puzzled. My post is about repentance and turning away from sins. Why did you mention the Pope of the Catholic Church? You see, I'm not here to persecute sinners; I'm just a mere human who is also a sinner in the eyes of God. As a Christian, I'm here to spread the word of God and try to make people aware so that they can still change and repent while there is still time, but not to condemn them.

I can sense that you are trying to engage me in an argument. The problem is, there is nothing to argue about when it comes to the topic of "repentance and turning away from sin." It is a good teaching. :) have you read the whole post here? > https://lifesnags.com/cutting-your-hands/
