Hi Hivers, today I want to tell you about a movie I saw a little while ago on Netflix, I had been wanting to see it for a while, it is a remake of the movie called "She's Like That" from 1999, which starred Rachel Leigh Cook as the school weirdo and Freddie Prince Jr. as the star soccer player. In this new version titled "He's All That" (2021), the roles were reversed, in addition to adding new technologies, the use of social networks and dealing with the issue of being an influencer.

Hola Hivers hoy quiero hablarles de una película que vi hace poquito por Netflix, tenía tiempo con ganas de verla, es un remake de la película llamada "Ella es así" de 1999, y que tenía de protagonista a Rachel Leigh Cook como la rara de la escuela y a Freddie Prince Jr como el futbolista estrella. En esta nueva versión titulada "Él es así" (2021), los roles fueron invertidos, además de añadir nuevas tecnologías, el uso de las redes sociales y tratar el tema de ser influencer.

In this film, the girl (Addison Rae) loses her sponsorship and thousands of followers because of a bad video. So she sets out to give a "makeover" to a boy (Tanner Buchanan) from her school and also seeks to win a bet with one of her friends, making him the king of the dance. Throughout the film, we see how the story of these two characters unfolds, their frustrations, aspirations and how they relate to each other and to the people around them: family, friends and even enemies.

En esta película, la chica (Addison Rae) pierde su patrocinio y miles de seguidores por un mal vídeo. Así que se propone hacerle un "cambio de look" a un chico (Tanner Buchanan) de su escuela y además busca ganar una apuesta con una de sus amigas, convirtiéndolo en el rey del baile. A lo largo de la película, vemos cómo se desarrolla la historia de estos dos personajes, sus frustraciones, aspiraciones y cómo se relacionan entre ellos y con las personas que los rodean: familiares, amigos e incluso enemigos.

Honestly, it caught my attention to see it, because it features Madison Pettis, an actress known for "Training Dad" and "Cody in the White House" a Disney series, and now acts in this film in a supporting role. Also, being a remake, Rachel Leigh Cook returns as the mother of the protagonist and Matthew Lillard as the school principal, an actor known for being Shaggy in the Scooby Doo Live Action of the early 2000s.

Sinceramente, me llamó la atención verla, porque aparece Madison Pettis, una actriz reconocida por "Entrenando a Papá" y "Cody en la casa Blanca" una serie de Disney, y ahora actúa en esta película en un papel secundario. Además, al ser un remake, vuelve Rachel Leigh Cook como la madre de la protagonista y Matthew Lillard Como el director de la escuela, actor reconocido por ser Shaggy en los Live Action de Scooby Doo de comienzos de los 2000.

Apart from being a romantic comedy, a genre I love, it deals with other themes, friendship, family, loyalty, honesty and responsibility, values that we sometimes take for granted when we are behind the screens, but that are still present in people's lives.

A parte del tema de ser comedia romántica, cuyo género me encanta, trata otros temas, la amistad, la familia, la lealtad, la honestidad y la responsabilidad, valores que a veces damos por sentado al estar detrás de las pantallas, pero que no dejan de estar presentes en la vida de las personas.

After watching it, I felt inspired, to give the best of myself through whatever platform I am on. And more important than that, to be myself, not only through my writings, but also with my loved ones, with my friends, with the people I meet along the way, it is a film that leads a lot to reflection, especially from a personal point of view, how we want to be known, how we are and who we want to become.

Después de verla, me sentí inspirada, a dar lo mejor de mí a través de cualquier plataforma en la que me encuentre. Y más importante que eso, a ser yo misma, no solamente a través de mis escritos, sino también con mis seres queridos, con mis amigos, con las personas a las que me encuentre en el camino, es una película que lleva mucho a la reflexión, sobre todo desde el punto de vista personal, cómo queremos que nos conozcan, cómo somos y quiénes queremos llegar a ser.
