Sentimental Times, Parks of Lingayen and Binmaley, and a Look Back

After some huge events, we often feel sentimental. That's what I'm feeling now after our CO Visit week, and our convention a month ago. Since we are so much involved at those events, and saw how it succeeded, I was so happy but at the same time, sentimental. I don't know why, it's just a feeling within me. Or it might be separation anxiety from our visitors? It might be, but I still can't explain. But of course, I needed the much needed rest afterwards.
I'll be sharing some of the photos at the parks of Lingayen and Binmaley. The two towns are very much close being neighbors. Also, I have been living in Lingayen since I was born, and so is my wife from the town of Binmaley.
I remember back in the day when we are preparing for our wedding by which we are applying for marriage license/certificate, we headed first to our town. However, they are asking for some requirements that we don't have. Besides, they required me first to correct a character on my surname by which "Ñ" is on it, while I haven't been using that since I was a child. What's on my birth certificate is "Ñ" though. I was quite frustrated because I was told, the process will take 3-6 months, and the wedding will be in two months. Our officiating minister told us to apply in Binmaley instead, so I went home to figure out what we will do.
I went home to think of what I can do. My wife went to Binmaley Municipal Hall to inquire. While I'm looking at my documents, I saw a local registry birth certificate I acquired from Lingayen Municipal Hall, the same place where we went to apply for marriage license. There's no "Ñ" on my surname, instead merely "N". I took a picture and sent it to my wife. Before I did that, my wife (fiancee then) was told by the person in-charge at Binmaley Municipal Hall that I can apply for Affidavit of Discrepancy at the court which is easy to acquire. I felt bad that our own local government employee in Lingayen didn't even instruct me to do such! I felt like it's an incompetence!
When my wife saw the picture I sent her with my local registry birth certificate, she had shown it at the person in charge, and told my wife to go there. He said the birth certificate is valid because it has a seal from my town's local registry. That made me even felt frustrated at the kind of service rendered by the our local government employee. That very same day, all the requirements was successful finished, and we'll just wait for the approval of marriage license, and go back after 10 days! So easy!
Meanwhile, here are my captures from town parks of my hometown Lingayen, and my wife's, Binmaley.
