Mark's wife got PTSD, and she began to recover due to intensive care from her husband. Eventually, they got back to work together. There may have been some economical setbacks due to the situation in the country but they are surviving.

In 1960, he's already at his 60, but he decided to continue practicing as a doctor. When the government is in need of medical practitioners during the Vietnam War, he tried to volunteer but his wife told him not to go because of his age.

At 65 of age, Mark has limited his medical practice as he heads for retirement while his wife has completely retired. Since they haven't had a family, they're helping each other. He had also prepared their new home not in the city, rather in his province.
