Damaged (Freewrite Challenge)
World War 1 has started. Some of the houses are damaged. Men are forced by the army to participate in the war for their country. Mark's father joined to fight against the foreign colonizers. Mark and his mom flee to a safer place.
Schools are closed so Mark has stopped in his schooling. Their rice mill was destructed from bombs, their house is already damaged. But life is more important so they have to leave. His father and mother has promised to look for each other when war ends.
Years had passed, the war began to wane. Mark's mother was traumatized from the sounds of bombs and guns. Before the war ended, Spanish flu hit the country. The mentioned illness became a pandemic. From years of peace he lived, Mark has seen the worst moments of his life, wars and pestilence.
