The earthquake has deeply affected all Venezuelans. It's impossible not to feel pain for those who lost everything, their homes and loved ones. Today, I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to those who have tirelessly helped in one way or another, and whose work continues unabated. Their dedication truly fills me with pride as a Venezuelan and gives me immense hope for the future. I'm also eternally grateful to those who have contributed from outside the country, and to all the delegations that arrived from different nations to help us rescue every living being from under the rubble. To all of them, my deepest gratitude!.
El terremoto nos ha tocado profundamente a todos los Venezolanos, es inevitable sentir dolor por quiénes lo perdieron todo, entre sus hogares y sus seres queridos. Hoy quiero aprovechar este espacio para rendir homenaje a aquellas personas que incansablemente han ayudado de una manera u otra, y cuya labor no se detiene. Su entrega realmente me llena de orgullo como Venezolana y me da muchísima esperanza en el futuro. También, estoy infinitamente agradecida con aquellas personas que desde afuera del país han aportado de alguna manera u otra, y también con todas las delegaciones que llegaron desde distintos países para ayudarnos a rescatar a cada ser vivo bajo los escombros. A todos ellos, mi mayor reconocimiento!.
1️⃣ If given the opportunity, what would you do for those who saved the lives of children or those who never tire of getting aid to the survivors, during the recent earthquake in Venezuela? 🇻🇪
1️⃣ Si tuvieras la oportunidad, ¿qué harías por aquellas personas que salvaron la vida de niños o por quienes no se cansan de llevar ayuda a los supervivientes durante el reciente terremoto en Venezuela? 🇻🇪
If I had the opportunity, I wouldn't just seek to provide them with unlimited resources, such as the necessary machinery and state-of-the-art equipment, since many of the volunteers working tirelessly lack the tools needed to pull survivors from the rubble and have had to do it with their bare hands and whatever simple tools they can find, which greatly prolongs the rescue process and the victims' suffering. I think that would help them immensely. It would also provide them with a space for comprehensive care and rest, because many of them work for days on end and need a place to take a break, because to continue helping and saving others, they first need to be cared for and supported themselves.
Si tuviera la oportunidad, no solamente buscaría dotarlos de recursos infinitos como por ejemplo, la maquinaria necesaria y equipamiento de última tecnología, ya que muchos de los voluntarios que trabajan sin descanso carecen de herramientas necesarias para sacar a los seres con vida bajo los escombros y han tenido que sacarlos usando sus propias manos, y alguna herramienta sencilla que puedan tener, lo cual alarga mucho más el proceso de rescate y la agonía de las víctimas, entonces pienso que eso les ayudaría mucho. También les proveería de un espacio de cuidado integral y descanso ya que muchos de ellos trabajan durante días sin parar y necesitan un lugar donde tener un respiro, porque para seguir ayudando y salvando a los demás, primero necesitan ser cuidados y sostenidos ellos mismos.
2️⃣ How can we keep the door open for donations from other countries so Venezuela can buy blankets and flashlights for the child survivors who are in a difficult situation? 🇻🇪
2️⃣ ¿Cómo podemos mantener abierta la posibilidad de recibir donaciones de otros países...? 🇻🇪
Pienso que se puede mantener, garantizando la absoluta transparencia en cada paso ya que, afortunadamente en esta situación ha entrado mucha ayuda internacional, tanto económica para ayudar a surtir hospitales y otros sitios a dónde llevan a los heridos rescatados, como en lotes de insumos para los damnificados que lo perdieron todo y necesitan cosas como comida y artículos de primera necesidad, por lo que pienso que la transparencia genera confianza y motiva a otros países y organismos a seguir apoyando.
Asimismo, pienso que sería bueno facilitar los canales de recepción y fortalecer las alianzas con las comunidades internacionales y ONG las cuales, han estado al pie del cañón desde el primer momento. Por mi parte, estoy agradecida de haber tenido la oportunidad dias atrás de unirme a un grupo de voluntarios que ayudan a armar kits de primera necesidad para repartir en los campamentos, ha sido una experiencia que me hizo crecer como persona. A todos los voluntarios y a las personas que de alguna u otra manera han ayudado, GRACIAS! 🇻🇪❤️🩹
I believe this can be sustained by guaranteeing absolute transparency at every step. Fortunately, a great deal of international aid has arrived during this situation, both financial to help supply hospitals and other facilities where rescued and injured people are being taken, and in the form of supplies for the victims who lost everything and need things like food and basic necessities. Therefore, I think transparency builds trust and motivates other countries and organizations to continue providing support.Likewise, I think it would be good to facilitate the channels for receiving aid and strengthen partnerships with international communities and NGOs, which have been on the front lines from the very beginning. For my part, I'm grateful to have had the opportunity a few days ago to join a group of volunteers helping to assemble essential kits for distribution in the camps. It was an experience that helped me grow as a person. To all the volunteers and everyone who has helped in one way or another, THANK YOU! 🇻🇪❤️🩹
