Today's Win: 58% gain profit in the Philippines Stock Market
A few days ago, I was worried about not having money anymore. I spent my HBD earnings during the winter ski holiday last month. Now that I'm back, I want to earn HBD again and plan to save it.
Last Sunday, I checked my Philippine stock market investment to see what was happening. Lo and behold! It gained 60% profit after five years.
I've been investing in the stock market since 2013 using the stock broker online platform, COL Financial. Although it didn't reach 6 digits in Philippine Pesos, I only invested 5 digits.
With those 5 digits, I was able to sell some of my stocks when my father got hospitalized and used it for medication in 2015 and my mom's in 2019 (both are deceased).
When I got pregnant in 2019 (a few months after my mom's death), I decided to sell some of my stocks again to sustain my trips for check-ups and tests to see my doctor. And what was left for me was 400 dollars worth of Philippine money.
I saw my portfolio in bloody red and sold a few stocks at a loss until I decided to buy BPI with an average price of PHP 74 in 2020 during the pandemic. Then I decided not to check on it for how many years.
Last Friday, the closing price of BPI went to PHP 122. On Monday, I wanted to sell it at PHP 123 but it closed to PHP 122. On Tuesday, I wanted to sell it at PHP 122 then the closing price was PHP 120. The next day, the price was getting down. There is no choice but to sell it for PHP 119.10. I have to sell it in the first hours of the morning so that I can buy another stock at a cheaper price. That's 58% profit instead of 62% based on the screenshot below. Not bad.
I felt so high when I sold my stocks. I've been holding my last Philippine money for five years. And voila, I felt like I just won the lotto. Imagine, that was my last money when I was single, from my online jobs for the past 10 years.
Sometimes, I regret not having an active income to continue my investment. And that feeling of being pregnant for two consecutive years with two kids. It's not an easy job. LMAO.
On the other side, I am being hopeful, that someday, I can be financially confident again. When the kids are taller, I can find a job and can help with all the expenses in the family. Of course, it will be exciting that my passive income is growing.
