Another Sunset and Night Sky Mood Board Painting using Gouache

My Gouache painting journey is fun

Hello, Hive friends! First, let me share how happy I am on my journey with gouache painting. It is such therapeutic that I enjoyed my time alone painting.

Let me show you my desk with my gouache painting. That feeling with these three artworks, I can have my art gallery at home.

I have published this photo in a previous article showing you my desk.

But I am just posting it here again because I am admiring this medium, gouache.

Let's focus on the topic for which I made another 4 columns of sunset and night sky mood boards.

1st Mood Board

I was in my painting study of the sunset and night sky. I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration.

I show you in these photos how I made it step by step. It's really hard to explain but yes, I painted some blue, sky blue, and lemon yellow in these first and second photos.

I painted cadmium yellow and black on the bottom in the third photo.

In the fourth photo, I started to paint the branches of a tree.

In the fifth photo, I am quite satisfied with the branches of a tree without leaves.

In the sixth photo, I realized I needed to paint red-orange on the background to give it a warm look.

Let's call this The Lone Tree Without Leaves.

2nd Mood Board

It is really interesting to paint when there is violet and purple so I got excited doing the second mood board.

Of course, there is violet and purple in the first photo.

Light pink and yellow-orange in the second photo.

I blended orange and yellow-orange in the bottom and started to paint a mountain in light gray in the fourth photo. I started doing the violet clouds as well.

It's getting lovelier when I add the orange clouds. I put on some white paint under the violet and orange clouds.

I added more details in the 5th photo, the black paint on a mountain and more white paint on the clouds. I am delighted with it.

But, it's more magnificent when you add some cactus plants.

Let's call this the Cactus on a Desert.

3rd Mood Board

The third board has about the same sky colors as the first board.

Sky blue, blended blue and yellow, and cadmium yellow.

I added a red-orange at the bottom. Now, you can see all the three boards in one frame.

What's more interesting in this painting is the train on the bridge. It reminds me of Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter movie.

I got scared while painting this because I thought I would make many mistakes. I was very careful. The gray clouds added mystery to the paint.

In the last photo, I made it to paint the train. Maybe we can call this the Mystery Train Express.

4th Mood Board

I really enjoyed the process of painting everything. Here I am, we are into our 4th board of sunset/night sky painting.

The colors for this board are cadmium yellow, orange, and red-orange for the sunset.

I painted a circle using cadmium yellow, then I used light gray to create reflections of the sea.

I added some gray clouds and added full colors for the sun. I felt so confused painting this.

Until I added some rocks to the painting using black.

In the 5th photo, everything made sense.

In the 6th photo, adding four birds flying makes the sunset view more interesting.

Let's call it The Beautiful Sunset by the Beach.

Final Result

Voila! The painting mood board has been completed. I like the fact that I alternated the sky colors on each board. Blue on the first, violet on the second, sky blue on the third, and yellow on the fourth board.

I love to do more of this.

As you can see, I still have difficulty doing the clouds. I need to learn how to paint clouds.

This paint is what I like to try. I really love how some artists in reels paint this kind of artwork. Nice art!
