I am a self-proclaimed waterfalls chaser and I can say that it's one of the best waterfalls I've visited. It's one of the tallest I've seen but it wasn't that overflowing since it's been sunny during the month.

They bamboo raft/cottages with a price range from 100-200 php. That's 2.00- 4.00 US dollars. If you don't have so much things with you and want to save money, you can just bring light snacks find a place to secure.


There are many beautiful spots where you can have your instagramable photos taken. The strong waterfall drops make your shots difficult to take that it goes to the camera lense and it easily moists.

I got a chance to take photos before we leaving the place and it was truly magical when you can have it all to yourself. Look how beautiful the place is. The waterfalls flows and create smaller lagoons where kids can go for a swim.




Just to set your expectation, the place water in Tumalog falls is very shallow. It's different from Kawasan falls that you can definitely enjoy swimming or cliff jumping. But overall, it's worth it if you are only up for relaxation.

For today's episode, we're going to have a quick tour to one of the most visited waterfalls in the Queen City of the South which is the Tumalog Falls. The majestic Tumalog Falls is situated in Oslob, Cebu which is a popular municipality of Cebu for it has various natural tourist attractions such as cold springs, white sand beaches, waterfalls and animal sanctuaries. If you are an outdoorsy person, you can also try activities like spelunking, mountain hiking, whale shark sightseeing, mountaineering and diving.

Tumalog is not as popular as Kawasan falls but what makes it unique is its sheer size and and height approximately ranging from 80-100 meters. The area is not as big in Kawasan but what I like about it is being not too commercialized as of this time. I believe there's not much enhancement been done in Tumalog waterfalls unlike in other popular waterfalls in Cebu.

HOW TO GET THERE?

If you are staying in the city proper or outside Cebu, you can get there by riding a bus at the South bus terminal with the signage "Oslob". The travel time is approximately 4-5 hours by bus depending upon the road situation. If you are on a DIY travel, renting a motorbike going to the Tumalog carpark is best for you to save money and enjoy the place as much as you like. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the Tumalog falls from Oslob town. There are also motorcycle or trike for hire if you don't know how to drive. There's no need to worry because people there are one of the friendliest. Before taking rides, you may want to ask the locals first on how much is the fare in the area so you don't get easily deceived. Everytime I travel somewhere, I always think of acting like a local so I wouldn't be able to get scammed or tricked by opportunists.

There's a 20 pesos entrance fee at the Tumalog waterfalls, they are collecting fees for the maintenance of the tourist spot. There's about 10 minute walk from the entrance going to the waterfalls site and there are motorcycles for hire if you don't want to bask under the sun or you're exhausted to go for a hike.

Tumalog is open daily from 6AM to 5PM. I highly recommend to visit there on weekdays and earliest time as possible so you can enjoy the fresh cold water and avoid crowds of people on the weekend so you get to take excellent photos. They have cottages for rent so you can bring foods and secure your belongings. When we get there, as far as I remember we had to pay for the corkage for us to cook our own food. They also have a small store or eatery in the area where you can eat your meals if you don't feel like bringing your own food.

If you are planning just to have a day trip, you need to leave the area before sunset so you can still get a ride going back to the city. If i'm not mistake last bus trip is 6:00 PM. In our case, we didn't stay that long since we still went to Sumilon Island just a boat away from Oslob town.
