Culture Wrestling Building Set And Ready
Good morning, have you wake from sleeping. culture is on going from my village Afikpo North LGA, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Going through some of the post from my blog you'll notice how we wrestle man to man. Our men are strong people who come together to unit and entertain people through wrestling. Our wrestling happen at village square where everyone within will be able to access the village wrestling contest.
Village wrestling of my people manually started a few eke and afor market days ago. Wrestling from those few days was a warm-up because children were the ones wrestling themselves. We have not seen mature men wrestle. Observing things to move this way means wrestling of my people has not pull crowd how it normally happen when full wrestling officially kick off.
There are few things we'll see at our village wrestling square which will tell us officially wrestling is about to hit the nail. We'll see men and women coming in mass to watch our village wrestling, shilling from the crowd when a winner is announced by Atamaja (referee) is loud like a roaring lion. Wrestling house to keep visitors will be built at the wrestling village square.
Our village wrestling house used to be two in numbers. One well decorated is for we owner of the village square. The one not well decorated is for visitors.
Building village wrestling house
Anytime we wake up from sleeping, have a partial view from village wrestling square and see wrestling house built. It tell people wrestling has reach a greater level where mature men wrestle, sweeter, and entertaining.
Village wrestling house is set up by mature men from the village who take it as their obligations. To set up village wrestling house, a towncrier will go round the village in the night, announcing to people to come out in mass for the building of village wrestling contest house.
To build village wrestling house, our men go into the forest to get materials for it. We normally hear as they enter the forest, they'll have to climb a palm tree top before they'll get palm tree front and stem use to make broom.
We hear as our men return from the forest with palm tree materials for the house. They'll use palm tree stem use to make a broom to set roof of the house, they'll use yellow palm front to decorate side of the house. Anywhere you see yellow palm front, it tell that culture is happening there. Wood are used as pillars for the village wrestling contest house.
