Miedo.
Fear.
On that afternoon where the sun shone, where the birds trilled as if it were an opera concert I felt the sepulchral cold for the first time.
There at the entrance of the dwelling, where that warm light did not penetrate and the overwhelming cold of winter was felt, I saw a skeletal figure, his bony hand gesturing a meaningless invitation.
Sitting under the medlar tree with a fixed gaze, hypnotized by that vision, next to me my aunt's black dog seemed not to take it for granted, a slap on my hand brought me out of that trance in which I was without realizing it.
Fear invaded my being, in that place the darkness gave no respite, the door that was open closed with a creak and I felt a tense calm.
The window of that gloomy dwelling opened slowly, an old and dirty curtain made a dancing sway, I felt that even that old cloth was asking for help, my imagination flew and my fear increased.
The dog next to me seemed to find something attractive in that sinister home, he ran without hesitation, with a broken voice I called him, however the four-legged animal ignored me and disappeared jumping out of that old window.
I got up quickly and advanced, I arrived a few steps before the window, the old fabric of the curtain had a putrid smell, the feeling I had was terrifying and I stepped back as a precaution.
I arrived at my aunt's home, I felt a little agitated, I was right, my hands were sweaty and that nauseating smell impregnated in my nose made me feel unwell.
I sat on the chair, my aunt gave me a glass of water, I burst into tears because of the fear I felt and even more because of the remorse of having lost her dog, I told her everything and waiting for her reprimand I was surprised with her hug.
That night night the nightmares were present and I woke up sweating, realizing that that stinking curtain was at the foot of my bed covering my aunt's deceased dog, the same one that had entered through that window.
