Monomad - Cracker Eating Competition

Hello everyone and all members of the Black And White Community, how are you guys today? I hope and pray that all of us are always given health, happiness and love in this life. Every day we will get a lot of black and white photography content from this community. Some of the black and white photos look very beautiful and also make an impression on the people who see them.

In the past, black and white photos or monochrome photos were very popular with newspapers because black and white photos could give a classic, historical impression and also animate emotions for anyone who saw them. However, nowadays many people and also photographers make black and white photos because they are considered to produce a beautiful work and have multiple interpretations, therefore black and white photos always have their own fans. This time, I want to participate again in this community. This is my entry for the #monomad challenge contest today, hosted and curated by @monochromes.

The object of my photography this time is the moment of the children's competition in the neighborhood where I live. I got the task to photograph these exciting moments. Every August 17th is Indonesia's independence day and many people celebrate that moment by holding competitions between residents, like in the neighborhood where I live.

Photo This is a cracker-eating competition activity carried out by children. This competition is often held even though I also don't know what the history and benefits are apart from the fun and excitement. There is one thing that I feel and I hope my friends can see and feel it from my black and white photos.

At the moment of the competition, I came to understand the innocence and honesty of children. All children follow the rules or regulations that have been set without anyone cheating. The children were very excited and cheerful, they did their best to win. In fact, the organizers of this competition have already informed that all the children who lose or win will get prizes, but the aura of competition and the sense of wanting to win from the children makes this competition so exciting.

I also saw how the moments of honesty and innocence of children were injured by adults and their own parents. Many parents intervene to help their children to win from their opponents, I don't understand even though this is just an entertainment activity for friendship between neighbors and the community in this housing environment.
