I live in Medan City, the city where I live is a business and industrial area so city people only have limited options to enjoy holidays or hang out with family. Of course, the mall is our best choice to spend the weekend.

Shihlin is one of the most famous franchises in Indonesia. Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks has more than 100 outlets spread across major cities in Indonesia. Shihlin sells various kinds of popular Taiwanese street food or snacks at Taiwan Street Markets.

Every outlet of Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks has a template and uniform place. Usually shihlin outlets use a small but efficient space. Shihlin uses an open kitchen concept, so we can see the process and processing of each food we order. We often encounter the concept of an open kitchen in street food or market food, seeing the food that is processed directly in front of us, the street food-style experience that we want to experience for every customer.

Conceptually, Shihlin does not provide many benches or tables, only a few chairs to wait for orders. All food at Shihlin will be packaged and can be taken home immediately or eaten on the go. I ordered two menus, namely XXL Crispy Chicken and Seafood Tempura.

Who of your friends have tried this menu? from the look and shape of XXL Crispy Chicken is very similar to Chicken Katsu. XXL Crispy Chicken is a dish made from chicken breast pieces that are beaten until flat and fried in flour. The size of this Crispy Chicken is bigger than other fried chicken.

XXL Crispy Chicken from Shihlin is one of the best. You can get XXL Crispy Chicken menu but nothing is this delicious. The chicken meat is very tender and the taste is also very tasty. It looks like the chicken has gone through a marinating process before being fried. Don't forget the crunchy texture of the outside of this chicken. XXL Crispy Chicken is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. In addition, we can choose the spices used, there are three choices, namely barbecue, seaweed and also extra spicy.

Seafood Tempura

Tempura is a frying technique from Japan that uses very hot oil with the food completely submerged. Usually, tempura is used to fry a crunchy snack. One of Shihlin's popular menus is Seafood Tempura, this food is made from a mixture of flour and fish and shrimp meat and then fried in hot oil. This order belonged to my wife but I wanted to try it too. My wife chose to add extra spicy seasoning. The texture of the tempura is also very soft and eaten hot.

We also continued our trip at the mall to get around and see the crowds this weekend.
