Hello everyone and all members of Haveyoubeenhere Community, how are you today? are you all healthy and happy? May we all always be healthy and happy in carrying out every routine and work that we do. Every day, we will be busy working and it will be very tiring. Every now and then, we need to relax a little and one of the alternative places that you can choose is a city park or green open space in your city.

City Park

A few days ago, I took my wife to visit the city park. City parks are one of the alternative green open spaces in urban areas. Every city must have green open space whether it is in the form of a private (such as in a housing complex) or a government-owned park.

City parks have two most important functions, namely social functions and ecological functions. I will try to explain about the ecological function of city parks. City parks (or green open spaces) are a source of oxygen for urban areas. The existence of city parks that have lush and green trees will help maintain air quality in urban areas. City parks also function to store water during the rainy season, thereby reducing inundation or flooding. In addition, city parks are also a form of environmental conservation, because usually some trees are planted which are very good for the environment.

What is a social function? City parks can be used as a cheap recreational area. There are many things that people can do in city parks, such as exercising, playing with children, or others. In addition, in the city park there is always social interaction between humans, it is very good to keep us in touch and maintain sanity. Don't forget, some nice and cool city parks can become landmarks of a region or city, such as the Cemara Asri Park that we visited.

Cemara Asri Park

This place is located in the Cemara Asri Complex, Medan. This park is located on Cemara Boulevard Streets, Percut Sei Tuan. The location is not too far from my house, about 30 minutes by car, if you ride a motorbike it can be even faster, about 18 minutes. This park is in the largest housing complex in my city. This park has an artificial lake that is home to a number of bird species around my city, thousands of catfish in the lake, and also has many street food vendors selling delicious food.

Cemara Asri Park is open to the public, and of course admission is free (and parking is also free). That makes many people bring their families to come to this park. This place is also very comfortable and has good security. The parking area of this park is also wide, and security is always ready to guard this area.

Cemara Asri Park has a lot of visitors, even though the entrance fee is free. The cleanliness of this place is always maintained and well maintained. We are quite comfortable here, even if only to sit watching birds and catfish in the lake.

House of the Birds

Cemara Asri Park is also known as home to thousands of birds of various species. Several types of birds that come such as seagulls and storks. These birds usually come to stop and rest among the bushes and trees in the middle of this artificial lake.

I came to this park in the afternoon. The afternoon is a great time to observe and see these birds. They would flock to the trees, like a man returning home. That is a sign, how far the bird has flown and where it has gone, every bird knows when it is time to return home. So, we as humans must not forget our home or our place of origin.

Cemara Asri Park also has a lot of pigeons. These pigeons live and live in cages provided by the housing. These pigeons are very docile with humans, they are not afraid if we approach and we can also give these pigeons food such as corn.

Artificial Lake and Thousands of Catfish

This lake area is also a favorite place for many people to sit and relax, we can see the scenery of the artificial lake and also observe some of the aquatic animals that are there, such as catfish and turtles.

One of the favorite activities or activities is feeding fish in an artificial lake. We can buy fish feed that is sold around this artificial lake, the price is quite cheap, only IDR 5K (0.35 USD) and can see the sight of catfish scrambling for food.

Like what I did this time, I tried to feed fish for the catfish in this lake. You can see, every catfish is competing with each other. The size of this catfish is already very large, maybe the size of a monster. I'm a little disgusted to see it myself, and I'm sure this catfish meat must not be good anymore.

I last came to this lake before the covid-19 pandemic. At that time, in this artificial lake there were still harpers, catfish, or carp but now I only see catfish. Are these other types of fish dead? or harvested? seems impossible. I'd rather suspect, these catfishes that eat other types of fish to keep them alive. I heard the park was closed for a year to prevent crowds and the spread of the covid-19 virus. Do you believe in catfish that eats all kinds of other fish?

Street Food

Satisfied walking around the park, seeing birds and feeding catfish, our stomachs will be hungry and our throats will be thirsty. We don't need to worry, in the Cemara Asri Park area there are street food and food court locations that can eliminate your hunger and thirst.

You can find many choices of food menus. Generally, the food sold here is a type of local Indonesian street food, such as Meatballs, Mie Pecal, Gorengan, Burger etc. In addition, you can also go to restaurants or coffee shops around Taman Cemara Asri, and of course the product prices are more expensive than those sold by street food vendors here.

Okay, this is my story this time. The last message to all of you, don't forget to rest and be happy always friends.
