Design and Architecture of Yoku Yatta Japanese Restaurant
Hello everyone,
How are you all? I hope you are well, healthy and happy. It's great to be able to come back to write about interesting experiences about Architecture and Design, sharing experiences is fun, apart from being able to share information it is also a good tool for yourself.
This time, different from usual, the coffee shop I studied a little about the architecture, now, I had an interesting experience at a Japanese restaurant, Yoku Yatta which is in a public space in the city of Medan. Interestingly, this time I was really interested in the interior they had, it was like being in real Japan!
From the outside, like restaurants in general, it looks very ordinary even though the ornaments from Japanese culture are very visible, but who would have thought that the interior is so beautiful and pleasing to the eye that is not used to seeing things like this. Starting from the outer wall, it looks like a geisha with a red fan, clearly painted on the dark gray wall.
Some of the windows were covered with white cloths that were written in Japanese characters which I don't know what they mean, what is clear is that the feel of Japanese culture is getting stronger here. There are also several chairs and tables that look like they are made from the city of beer, sponsored by one of the well-known beers in Indonesia. I think it would be a great idea to make chair and table bases from recyclable materials like these.
I entered from the main door, it seemed too dark for a restaurant class, similar to a night club, but there was no disturbing music, in fact it tended to be more classy, humming more towards classical music. Really, the use of minimal light but in the right place makes this place very comfortable.
Due to the use of various light colors such as blue, white, orange and red, I felt like I was in a luxury restaurant. Honestly, the food here is not expensive except for the sake or beer they sell. Several minimalist tables and chairs, lots of them with not too much space between them.
I came when there weren't too many people here, I was very comfortable with really good hospitality from several employees. They served our food and drinks very well.
There are several interiors that I like, let me explain them a little.
You see what looks like there are curtains on the roof lined with yellow lights that make this place look very luxurious. I'm not used to seeing hanging lamps like this, but to be honest, this really caught my attention.
One of the nice spots was also across from us, I could see it from afar and it was truly authentic Japanese. There are several printed images in special frames, arranged quickly and in matching colors. Use almost all red in every accent. Of course, there is a picture of a geisha wearing a beautiful komono with her distinctive hairstyle.
Likewise with some interesting accents such as red LED lights with the words 'Sushi or Sake' in my opinion, this makes the highlight of this type of Japanese restaurant. There are lots of LED lights like this in every corner of the wall, of course with different font designs too.
Yoku Yatta makes me want to go to Japan, but that longing can be released at this restaurant. I like everything in this restaurant which looks very good and precise. For those who like Japan, which is usually called 'wibu', I think when you take a photo here, you will think you are in real Japan. Is not it?
