Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to be able to return to share stories and experiences about my gardening activities in my hydroponic garden. What happened during this week? keep watching my story or garden journal this time.

The last time I made a post on the Hive Garden Community was about 11 days ago. Wow, that's a long enough distance to do regular posts. Usually, I post weekly about the condition of my hydroponic garden. However, my condition was very busy for several days and did not have time to make this post.

Making Hydroponic Installation Orders
I have been doing gardening activities with a hydroponic system since six years ago. Often times, people who pass my house and see my hydroponic garden are inspired to also make and try growing vegetables with the hydroponic system.

Last week, I got an order to make a simple hydroponic installation from a student. This hydroponic order is simple in size with a PVC pipe length of about 150 cm with a total of 48 planting holes. We installed it on the part of the second floor that has been conditioned for growing vegetables.

The customer who ordered the hydroponic installation this time was around 13 years old. From our conversation, he seems to be very interested in hydroponic farming and also most importantly he has already searched for information beforehand. I also did a little demonstration and taught some basic knowledge about managing and growing vegetables in this hydroponic installation.

Condition of Pakcoy in Hydroponic Garden
After seeing a little of the work I did, I asked my friends to see the condition of the vegetables in my hydroponic garden. This week, I harvested about 10 kilograms of pakcoy. For information, this week the price of vegetables in my city is also increasing. Usually, one kilogram of pakcoy costs IDR 15K (1USD), and last harvest, I sold it for IDR 20K (or around 1.3USD).

Because of that, if you pay attention to the condition of my hydroponic garden, it looks empty of vegetables. I also arrange hydroponic media that haven't been used so that it's tidier and less messy. Yup, tidiness in a hydroponic garden or something else makes us more excited.

Besides that, I also have about 200 pakcoy with a planting age of about 25 days. Pakcoy conditions grow very well and optimally. During this planting period, I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 1000-1200 ppm. Pakcoy growth during this period was also uniform and there were not many pest attacks on the leaves. I also spray plant-based pesticides regularly and thoroughly to reduce pest attacks.

IMG_4603.jpeg

About four days ago, I also sowed the pakcoy seeds. I sowed about 600 pakcoy seeds and hoped that about 80% of the seeds would grow and I would transfer them to my hydroponic medium in about a week. For sowing these seeds, I didn't do any special treatment, only basic treatment.

Conditions of Lettuce in My Hydroponic Garden
Now we move on to the lettuce. One of the vegetables that I always grow in my hydroponic garden. Lettuce is becoming a prima donna vegetable for today's hydroponic farmers. Lettuce has excellent growth power and optimal growth. In addition, lettuce is also known not to be easily attacked by pests, be it insects or rats.

IMG_4589.jpeg
I grow lettuce in two different locations. First, I planted about 250 pots of lettuce on my second floor balcony. This lettuce is about 25 days old after sowing. The conditions for this lettuce grew very well and optimally, we can see it from the majority of the lettuce growth which is uniform, fresh with nice green leaf color.

During this planting period, I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 600-700 ppm. For information, lettuce actually does not require too much use of fertilizer when compared to other vegetables.

One problem I faced when growing this lettuce was that the yield was not optimal. All the lettuce that I planted did grow well and beautifully, but didn't get a good weight. Because of that, I was ordering lettuce seeds from a different nursery company and was going to try them out.

Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden
Next, I invited my friends to see the condition of the kangkong that I planted in my hydroponic garden. As I often tell my friends here, kale is one of the vegetables that is very easy to grow and care for, both in a conventional system and in a hydroponic system.

IMG_4593.jpeg

Currently, in my hydroponic garden I am growing kangkong with two different planting ages. First, the taller kangkong is the kangkong with a planting age of about 16 days after sowing. The growth of this kangkong looks not uniform, some kangkong grows higher when compared to some other kangkong pots.

IMG_4594.jpeg

Apart from that, my kangkong also gets disturbed by attacks from rats. We can see from the photos I uploaded. There were several pots of kangkong that were broken and cut like rats had bitten them. To be honest, the rat infestation in my hydroponic garden for the past three months has been a real concern. Moreover, the three stray cats that I care for around my hydroponic garden have left my house. These mice do not have natural enemies.

Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden
Finally, I invite my friends to see the condition of the mint leaves that I plant in my hydroponic garden. In my hydroponic garden, I grow all mint leaves in PVC pipe hydroponic installations of various models.

On the front, I have two PVC pipe hydroponic installations with a total of 130 planting hole. I combined two models of pvc pipe installation into one installation and it worked. Mint leaves grown here grow very well and optimally. I've harvested it several times and the results are very profitable commercially.

Apart from that, I also have a PVC hydroponic installation installed on the wall of my house. The PVC installation consists of four 150 cm long PVC pipes with 54 planting holes. Mint leaves grown in this hydroponic medium also grow very well and optimally. The leaves look green and fresh, the aromatics from the mint leaves are also very pronounced. I plan to make about 500 pots of mint leaves in my hydroponic garden because the demand for this plant is very high.

OK, that's all my story for this week. See you next week.

It is inspiring to see you growing vegetables with the hydroponic system. People who pass your house cannot but notice this. They might ask different questions about your hydroponic garden.

thank you very much @erikah and I'm so glad you stopped by my blog again.
Ordering a hydroponic installation is one of my jobs besides caring for vegetables in a hydroponic garden.
