Hello everyone,
How are you all? I hope you are well, healthy and happy. Being healthy and happy is indeed the best, because when we are healthy and happy, our activities will also be very productive. Good things will also come when we can make good use of our productivity.

Talking about productivity, one thing that makes me more productive is good food that I like. Talking about food, I was reminded of the food menu at one of the cafes which was truly extraordinary, 100% of the food menu was filled with Indonesian cuisine.

With a very strong local cultural theme, this café is present among other cafés which perhaps have very little emphasis on local food. A tradition that is maintained and introduced in the current era of globalization. Almost 50% of cafes in this city definitely have menus from foreign cultures, but this cafe is different, even more so.

Tenank café, I've discussed this before, but because my story is too long, so I made another story here, of course discussing the extraordinary food at this café. In my opinion, if you are a tourist and are going to the city of Medan looking for complete Indonesian food, then I would choose Tenank Café.

I recommend you to try the food here, apart from the many types of menu, delicious taste and cheap prices. I started a little review of the food at Tenank Café;

Pecel Mie and Vegetable

I chose this menu as the main course because I was very curious about the taste, but seriously, I really like this food because apart from the large portion, the taste is also very authentic with the vegetable pecel and noodles that I often taste at my regular places. This type of food is very easy to find in this city, because it is usually a breakfast menu.

This noodle and vegetable pecel is really simple, the strength of the taste is in the peanut sauce. Large gomak noodles and vegetables consisting of kale, cassava leaves, long beans and sprouts which are then poured with sweet and spicy peanut sauce and sin. Its truly worth buying, at a price of only 10,000 rupiah.

Geprek Chicken Rice

A large plate filled with lots of filling, this is one of the main courses we ordered. This plate is too big for 1 portion of food, there is spiced fried chicken covered with chili sauce.

The most delicious filling on this plate is kerupuk, authentic Indonesian crackers with shrimp flavor, crunchy when bitten and also have a very delicious taste. There are 3 crackers given in one tampah, its really too much.

Traditional Snacks and Desserts

There are many traditional cakes for sale, including the one I chose. examples of traditional cakes such as onde-onde and martabak wrapped banana leaves and 'putri mandi'. Of the three, I truly loves of all, it tastes so sweet, but not too sweet, made from real sugar and with an aromatic pandan scent.

Apart from that, I also ordered dessert which I shared with my family members. To be honest, I don't really like the aroma of durian, but my mother said, this durian mixed ice is very delicious, especially the coconut milk which is very soft and refreshing. There are also a lot of fillings from mixed ice, lots of tapioca pearls, grass jelly, dawet and durian.

Protein Intake

You know that my wife is a protein fanatic, she ordered 3 pieces of bacem tempeh and 3 pieces of otak-otak. Otak-otak is a typical food from Palembang on the island of Sumatra, filled with fish and a little tapioca flour, then baked over hot coals. Given peanut sauce which tastes light, not like pecel which has a rich flavor.

Then, 3 pieces of bacem tempeh which is a typical Javanese food. Tempeh with a brown color that has been marinated with spices, then cooked with full of spices and left to rest all day. Of course, this bacem tempeh is not fried, so it is very healthy as a protein enhancer.

So, there are really many menus at Tenank Café, I hope this café continues to innovate and continues to develop, even though globalization has occurred, traditional Indonesian food must remain sustainable. How about you?
