Condition of Vegetables in My Hydroponic Garden at the End of November 2023

Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray that we are all always given health and happiness in living this life. I am very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to participate and contribute again to the HiveGarden Community.

As you know, since I started actively writing on this platform. The HiveGarden Community is one of the best places for me to share stories about my experiences and the condition of my hydroponic garden every week. However, since the last two months, I have been very busy with the urban farming shop and also activities in my hydroponic garden. I just don't have time to write a weekly hydroponics journal. If I check, I last wrote about 23 days ago, and that's almost a month long. So, it doesn't take long and I will take you to see my hydroponic garden.

Condition of Lettuce in My Hydroponic Garden

Do you know lettuce? In my opinion, lettuce is one of the vegetables that is known by people globally throughout the world. There are many varieties of lettuce grown, such as green lettuce, red lettuce, pointed leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce and also ocra lettuce. However, the lettuce that is most widely consumed and is part of culinary traditions in the world is green lettuce, especially curly green lettuce.

In my last hydroponics journal, I told about the condition of the lettuce seeds that I had sown. At that time, I told him that I had sown around 1200 lettuce seeds. Finally, I have transferred all the lettuce seeds to my hydroponic media. In fact, the lettuce has grown very beautifully and optimally.

Currently, the lettuce that I plant mini is about 30 days old from sowing. What's the condition? You can see it from the photos I uploaded, this lettuce looks very beautiful with uniform growth. All the lettuce leaves grow green, and that is a sign that our treatment of this lettuce is correct.

During this planting period, I use a hydroponic liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of around 600-700 ppm. The concentration of this fertilizer solution is based on the literature I read and found on the internet. I also sorted to group smaller lettuces into one medium so that their growth could catch up with the larger lettuces.

Preparation for Sowing Lettuce Seeds

According to my estimates, these lettuces will be able to be harvested in around 5-10 days. Therefore, to maintain the stability and continuity of vegetables in my hydroponic garden. I started preparing replacement plants. I have also started sowing around 1000 lettuce seeds. My plan is that when these lettuces are harvested, I will immediately replace them with new lettuce seeds.

Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden

Next, I invite you to see the condition of the kangkong that I planted in my hydroponic garden. As you know, kangkong is a vegetable that is popular for consumption in Asia. Kangkong has many advantages, such as its delicious taste and ease of cooking. One of the most popular kangkong dishes is stir-fried kangkong and it is also one of my favorite foods.

In the last planting period, I got a very good kangkong harvest. I got almost 20 kilograms of kangkong and sold it for almost 0.8 USD / kilogram. The price of kangkong is indeed cheaper compared to other vegetables.

In this planting period, I planted around 350 pots of kangkong in my hydroponic garden. Each pot contains around 5 kangkong seeds, meaning I have around 1750 kangkong stems in my hydroponic garden. If we make an analogy, all this kangkong would be enough to feed a family for three months.

For this planting period, I used a liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of around 1000 ppm. If I pay attention, the kangkong that I planted is still growing very well and optimally. I think, in the next week we will be able to see even better growth in the future.

Condition of Mint Leaves in My Hydroponic Garden

Lastly, I invited my friends to see the condition and development of the mint leaves in my hydroponic garden. Mint leaves are a plant that has many benefits. I have started planting mint leaves since I started hydroponic gardening activities.

I have several hydroponic installations that are used to grow mint leaves. However, not all installations are filled with plants. Some of the holes in the PVC pipe look empty, because I have harvested these mint leaves.

In my hydroponic garden, mint is the most profitable plant. Because of that, I have plans to create a better concept in the future. I am planning something new next week, I pray to have time to execute it. So, see you in my next hydroponics journal.

Hydroponics is beneficial in an area with ample space. Unfortunately, space constraints are one of the challenges in my area, preventing me from pursuing hydroponics.

hello @kennyroy thank you for stopping
Actually, hydroponics doesn't require too much land. We only need sunlight, I have helped many people to create hydroponic gardens on their rooftops. However, it is difficult to install hydroponics in an apartment because of limited sunlight.

Yes, that is my point. ^_^ In the apartment the problem is not only sunlight, but also the space.
