De niño me impresionaba ver a mi padre con unas enormes cámaras fotográficas, como era muy pequeño no sabía lo que hacía con ellas. Igualmente me resultaba muy enigmático verlo salir del pequeño laboratorio instalado por él en la casa con las fotos aún húmedas, las que colgaba con sumo cuidado para que se secaran. Aquel mundo de imágenes alimentaba cada día mi curiosidad infantil.

Una vez que tuve la edad adecuada, y en vista de mi persistente interés, mi padre decidió hacerme su ayudante. Entrar al laboratorio fue fascinante, era un mundo mágico donde las imágenes aparecían de la nada. Había que tener mucho conocimiento y maña para que las cosas salieran bien y mi viejo era todo un experto. Por aquel entonces las cámaras usaban rollos de acetato que luego de revelados hacían posible copiar las imágenes. Todas esas vivencias al lado de mi viejo me hicieron agarrarle un gran amor a la fotografía.

Una de las primeras cosas que hice cuando tuve mi primer trabajo fue comprarme una cámara fotográfica profesional. Recuerdo que era una Olympus OM1, con ella pude inmortalizar muchos bellos momentos. Luego di el paso al mundo digital y aprendí los rudimentos necesarios de Photoshop para procesar las imágenes.

Con mi cámara Oly E500 he recorrido todo el territorio venezolano, siempre me ha fascinado la fotografía de paisajes y naturaleza, y una que otra vez fotografío a la familia y a los amigos. En la actualidad casi todas las fotos las saco con el cell, pero de vez en cuando desempolvo la Oly.

Gracias a HIVE he tenido el estímulo para seguir alimentado todos los días esa gran pasión.

Mi segunda gran pasión es la música. Todo comenzó en la adolescencia, casi que como una travesura. Por cuestiones de la vida me junté con un grupo de amigos que inventaron hacer una miniteca, eso fue por allá por los setenta y tener una miniteca era el sueño de casi todos los muchachos.

Mi madre me dio para comprar los primeros discos y muy pronto estuvimos mis amigos y yo animando cuanta fiesta quisiera invitarnos. Por aquello no cobrábamos nada, lo hacíamos solo por el placer de pasar un buen rato. Más de una vez yo era el Disk Jockey y allí aprendí mucho sobre el mundo de los discos.

Una de las primeras cosas que hice cuando me casé y tuve mi casa fue comprar un buen equipo de sonido. Mi primer mobiliario fue muy básico, la cama matrimonial, la nevera, la cocina y el equipo de sonido. Mi esposa y yo nos sentábamos en el suelo para comer y escuchar la música, así pasamos un año o dos antes de tener otras cosas. Podía dejar de sentarme en un sofá, podía dejar de tener TV, pero con la cámara y el equipo de sonido casi que no necesitaba más nada.

Con el paso del tiempo he ido ampliando mis gustos musicales. De solo escuchar Rock en mi adolescencia fui aprendiendo a escuchar de todo, desde lo clásico hasta el jazz. Todo no, miento, todo menos reggaetón.

También disfruto tocando la guitarra, sé que nunca seré un virtuoso, reconozco que me faltan cosas esenciales, pero eso no quita el disfrute que siento cada vez que hago mis prácticas y escucho mis pequeños avances.

Por último les comento sobre otra gran pasión que adquirí ya de hombre, la lectura. Descubrí la lectura bastante tarde, en la Universidad, en mi casa materna nunca hubo libros ni veía a nadie leyendo un texto. Pero a medida que fue pasando el tiempo fui haciendo de la lectura una parte importante de la vida. Los libros me han abierto muchos mundos, me han permitido conocer más a los demás y conocerme a mí mismo. En HIVE esta pasión por la lectura me ha permitido poder hacer mejor mis publicaciones.

Este mundo de internet es maravilloso para mis tres pasiones, ahora puedo escuchar en la web música que nunca imaginé que existía, puedo leer autores desconocidos e inaccesibles desde mi país, y puedo dar a conocer mis imágenes. En verdad que este es un buen tiempo para mí.

Con esta publicación hago mi entrada para el concurso convocado por los amigos de la comunidad @aliento. Gracias a ellos por la iniciativa. Desde aquí dejo mis felicitaciones al amigo @eddiespino por su cumpleaños del pasado 13 de octubre.

With my Oly E500 camera I have traveled all over Venezuela, I have always been fascinated by landscape and nature photography, and once in a while I photograph family and friends. Nowadays I take almost all my photos with my cell phone, but from time to time I dust off the Oly.

Thanks to HIVE I have had the stimulus to continue to feed this great passion every day.

My second great passion is music. It all started when I was a teenager, almost as a prank. For life's sake I got together with a group of friends who invented a miniteca, that was back in the seventies and having a miniteca was the dream of many boys.

My mother gave me the money to buy the first records and very soon my friends and I were playing at any party they wanted to invite us to. We didn't charge anything for that, we did it just for the pleasure of having a good time. More than once I was the Disk Jockey and there I learned a lot about the world of records.

One of the first things I did when I got married and had my own house was to buy a good sound system. My first furniture was very basic, the double bed, the fridge, the stove and the stereo. My wife and I would sit on the floor to eat and listen to music, so we spent a year or two like that before we got other things. I could stop sitting on a couch, I could stop having a TV, but with the camera and the sound system I almost didn't need anything else.

As time has gone by I've broadened my musical tastes. From only listening to Rock in my teens I learned to listen to everything from classical to jazz. Not everything, I'm lying, everything but reggaeton.

I also enjoy playing the guitar, I know I will never be a virtuoso, I recognize that I lack essential things, but that does not take away the enjoyment I feel every time I do my practices and listen to my little advances.

Finally, I would like to tell you about another great passion that I acquired as a man, reading. I discovered reading quite late, at the University, in my mother's house there were never any books and I never saw anyone reading a text. But as time went by, I made reading an important part of my life. Books have opened many worlds to me, they have allowed me to get to know others and to know myself better. At HIVE, this passion for reading has allowed me to improve my publications.

This internet world is wonderful for my three passions, now I can listen to music on the web that I never imagined existed, I can read unknown and inaccessible authors from my country, and I can make my images known. Truly this is a good time for me.
