Birthday and teacher's day gift for my sister – Tutorial

Saludos querida comunidad de la aguja, el día de hoy quiero compartirles algo muy especial que hice a crochet como regalo para mi hermana @mayoly1, en mi país el 15 de Enero se celebra el día del maestro, mi hermana es maestra de escuela primaria, profesora de secundaria e incluso docente universitario y ella tuvo la dicha de nacer precisamente un 15 de enero hace 36 años. Hace unos días cuando participé en el reto de decoración propuesto en esta comunidad, ella admiró mucho mi trabajo y me dijo que le gustaría tener un centro de mesa hecho a crochet , es por eso que con esa idea en mente decidí realizar algo especial para ella, se trata de un portalápices que bien puede servir como centro de mesa de su escritorio como maestra. Acá les comparto las instrucciones por si desean hacer uno igual.

Greetings dear needlework community, today I want to share with you something very special that I crocheted as a gift for my sister @mayoly1, in my country on January 15 Teacher's Day is celebrated, my sister is a primary school teacher, She is a high school teacher and even a university teacher and she had the good fortune to be born precisely on January 15, 36 years ago. A few days ago when I participated in the decoration challenge proposed in this community, she admired my work a lot and told me that she would like to have a crochet centerpiece, that is why with that idea in mind I decided to make something special for her , it is a pencil holder that could well serve as the centerpiece of your desk as a teacher. Here I share the instructions in case you want to make one like it.

Materiales / Materials

  • Hilo acrílico de colores: verde marrón, blanco, rojo, rosado, negro, amarillo, gris, azul.
  • Relleno de fibra acrílica.
  • Frasco de compota vacío.
  • Ganchillo # 0 y # 4 (1,25 mm)
  • 3 Palillos de altura
  • Tijera
  • Aguja de ojal grande
  • Colored acrylic yarn: green brown, white, red, pink, black, yellow, grey, blue.
  • Filled with acrylic fiber.
  • Empty compote jar.
  • Crochet #0 and #4 (1.25 mm)
  • 3 Chopsticks of height
  • scissors
  • Large eyelet needle

Forro del frasco / Cover for glass

La idea con el Forro del frasco es que tuviera los colores tradicionales de una pizarra de escuela, es decir, verde oscuro con marrón como si esto fuera de madera. Con el hilo marrón y ganchillo # 0 tejer 16 puntos altos en una anillo. Hacer una ronda con 8 aumentos y una ronda con 6 aumentos. Hacer 1 punto alto y 1 cadena por 30 veces. Cambiar a hilo verde y hacer igualmente 1 punto alto y 1 cadena de forma consecutiva hasta el final de la ronda teniendo en cuenta que los puntos altos se hacen en el agujero dejado por las cadenas de la ronda anterior, continuar del mismo modo hasta hacer 8 rondas de color verde. Hacer una ronda igual pero en color marrón. Terminar con una ronda de puntos de abanicos formados por 5 puntos altos juntos , saltando 2 puntos y separando los abanicos con 1 punto bajo. Insertar la cinta y hacer un lazo.

The idea with the Jar Liner is that it would have the traditional colors of a school blackboard, ie dark green with brown as if this were made of wood. Make a round the same but in brown. Finish with a round of fan stitches made up of 5 double crochets together, skipping 2 stitches and separating the fans with 1 single crochet. Insert the ribbon and make a bow.

El corazón se hace se hace blanco para que parezca dibujado con tiza sobre el pizarrón. Con ganchillo # 4 hacer 12 puntos altos en una anillo.
1 Ronda: 1 punto deslizado, 1 punto bajo y 1 punto medio alto juntos, 4 puntos alto juntos, 1 punto medio alto y punto bajo juntos, 1 punto bajo, 1 punto bajo 1 punto medio alto y 1 punto alto juntos, hacer dos cadenas para crear la punta y repetir la secuencia de puntos pero a la inversa ⬅️
2 Ronda: 1 punto deslizado, 1 punto bajo, 1 punto medio alto, 1 punto alto, 2 puntos altos juntos, 2 puntos altos juntos, 1 punto alto, 1 punto medio alto, 5 puntos bajos.
Para crear la punta tejer dentro del agujero dejado por las dos cadenas de la ronda anterior: 1 punto bajo, 2 cadenas, 1 punto bajo la el mismo agujero bajo
Repetir la secuencia de puntos pero a la inversa ⬅️
Dejar una hebra larga y coser el corazón

The heart is made white so it looks like it was drawn with chalk on the blackboard. With hook #4 make 12 double crochets in a ring.
1 Round: 1 slip stitch, 1 single crochet and 1 half double crochet together, 4 double crochet together, 1 half double crochet and single crochet together, 1 point single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet and 1 double crochet together, make two chains to create the point and repeat the sequence of stitches but in reverse ⬅️
Round 2: 1 slip stitch, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet together, 2 double crochet together, 1 double crochet , 1 half double crochet, 5 single crochet.
To create the point weave into the hole left by the two chains from the previous round: 1 single crochet, 2 chains, 1 single crochet in the same single hole
Repeat the sequence of points but in reverse ⬅️
Leave a long tail and sew the heart

Lápiz/ Pencil

Con hilo rosado y ganchillo # 4 hacer 8 puntos bajos en una anillo. Hacer 8 aumentos. Tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer 16 puntos bajos.
Hacer dos rondas de puntos bajos. Cambiar a hilo negro y tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer una ronda de puntos deslizados. Tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer 16 puntos bajos. Hacer dos rondas de puntos bajos.
Cambiar a hilo amarillo y tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer una ronda de puntos deslizados. Tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer 16 puntos bajos. Hacer 9 rondas de puntos bajos.
Cambiar a hilo beige y tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer una ronda de puntos deslizados. Tomando solo el lado de atrás hacer 16 puntos bajos. Hacer 4 disminuciones por dos rondas, rellenar con fibra.
Cambiar a hijo gris y hacer 4 disminuciones. Hacer 4 puntos bajos , terminar con un punto deslizado y esconder la hebra por dentro.

With pink yarn and hook #4 make 8 single crochets in a ring. Make 8 increases. Taking only the back side make 16 single crochet.
Make two rounds of single crochet. Change to black yarn and taking only the back side make a round of slip stitches. Taking only the back side make 16 single crochet. Do two rounds of single crochet.
Switch to yellow yarn and taking only the back side make a round of slip stitches. Taking only the back side make 16 single crochet. Make 9 rounds of single crochet.
Change to beige yarn and taking only the back side make a round of slip stitches. Taking only the back side make 16 single crochet. Make 4 decreases for two rounds, fill with fiber.
Change to gray child and make 4 decreases. Make 4 single crochets, finish with a slip stitch and hide the yarn inside.

Manzana / Apple

Con hilo rojo y ganchillo # 4 hacer 6 puntos bajos en una anillo. Hacer 5 rondas de 6 aumentos. Hacer 8 rondas de 30 puntos bajos. Hacer 5 rondas de 6 disminuciones y rellenar con fibra antes de cerrar con un punto deslizado. Tomar la hebra y pasarla desde arriba hacia abajo halar para formar una nudo y esconder por dentro.
Hacer el tallo con hilo marrón hacer 4 puntos bajos en un anillo y hacer 8 rondas de puntos bajos, cerrar con un punto deslizados y dejar la hebra larga para coser.
Para la hoja usar hilo verde. Hacer 5 cadenas de base. Hacer 1 punto deslizado, 1 punto bajo, 1 punto medio alto, 3 puntos altos juntos, 1 punto deslizado. Repetir la secuencia de puntos pero a la inversa ⬅️
Coser la hoja al tallo y el tallo a la manzana.

For the leaf use green yarn. Make 5 base chains. Make 1 slip stitch, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 3 double crochet together, 1 slip stitch. Repeat the sequence of points but in reverse ⬅️
Sew the leaf to the stem and the stem to the apple.

Libro/ Book

Con hilo azul y aguja # 4 hacer 14 cadenas de base y hacer 28 rondas de puntos bajos. Con hilo blanco hacer 4 cadenas de base y hacer 38 rondas de puntos bajos, con el hilo azul unir ambas partes con puntos bajos y rellenar con fibra antes de cerrar. Bordar las letras con hilo blanco.

With blue yarn and needle #4 make 14 base chains and make 28 rounds of single crochet. With white thread make 4 basic chains and make 38 rounds of single crochet, with the blue thread join both parts with single crochet and fill with fiber before closing. Embroider the letters with white thread.

Resultado / Result

Para finalizar solo se debe insertar los palillos de altura en las figuras y rellenar el frasco para mantener los palitos en alto, pero si se va a usar como portalápices el relleno no es necesario. Con respecto a mi hermana creo que ella vino a este mundo destinada a ser maestra, no sólo nació el día del maestro sino que nunca la escuché hablar de querer ser otra cosa cuando era niña, así que ella creció con ese objetivo en mente hasta que lo logró, en este país los salarios de los maestros son los más bajos y yo considero que en tales circunstancias todos los maestros son héroes por mantenerse aún dando clases a los niños. Se que en esta comunidad hay muchas maestras de profesión y aunque se encuentran algunas fuera del país o no están ejerciendo su profesión como en mi caso les deseo un Feliz día del maestro.

So nice you are gifting your sister this lovely decoration and I looove the pencil. When I saw what you designed my mind started to wander and I imagined a whole collection made from this crochet pencil: like a bag for real pencils in pencil form or a pencil shaped tiny cloth to clean whiteboard or blackboard, a pencil necklace… :-DDDDD
