Beware of Scammers (Updates)

“Hello, Bhaiya!!!” He approached me with a big smile.
“Hey, Chote!!!, You seem to be in a good mood today. Kya Special?” I inquired about his big smile.
“Bas, This chote is going to be a very busy person in a few days. Dekho LnT ka letter aaya hain?” (Eng Trans. - Check this letter out from LnT.) He handed me a letter.
I understood that he was being scammed by someone. That letter was fake.
“Naa, this is fake bro. Be careful from such interview calls.” I immediately alerted him.
“Hein?”
“Yes, It's a fake letter. Bhai.” I clarified again.
“Arey!!! aise kaise fake. Call aaya tha. Verification bhi hua hain. Interview Fee bhi diya meine.” (Eng Trans. - How come this is a fake? I received a call, got the verification, and even paid the interview fee.”) He clearly was not happy with the news.
“C****, hain kya tu?” (Eng Trans. - What a dumbf**k you are).
“Check this.” I pointed to the letterhead. “Toburo likha hain idhar” (Eng Trans. - It is written as Toburo) I said to him pointing out the obvious mistake in the company's name.

No reply from him.

“Bro, Just think. A billion-dollar multi-national company, will ever ask the candidate to pay for the interview?” I again shot a direct logical question at him.
“I don’t know bhai, I got the call and the letter and in the excitement of getting the Job. I paid them.” He acknowledged being wrong.
“Kitna?” (Eng Trans. - How much?) I asked him.
He mumbled something.
“Tell me re,” I asked again.
“Seven thousand three hundred fifty-two rupees”. He replied.
“Ye kya number hain bhai.?” (Eng Trans. - What kinda figures are these?) I almost facepalmed myself.
“Kaise diya?” I inquired further.
“Huh?”
“Mode of payment, Bhai!!! What's the mode of payment?” I asked him again.
“Netbanking se kiya.” (Eng Trans. - Via net banking) He replied
“Same bank tha?” (Eng Trans. - Was it the same bank as yours?) I asked in the hope if it's the same bank there is a possibility of recovering or a quick response.
“No. Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd.”
I couldn’t help but started laughing hard. It took me two mins to bring myself to normal.
“Chal, you need to fire an FIR.” I advised him to register a formal complaint with the police.

Well, the story is a fictionalized version of something that happened to someone. Only a fool would claim to be immune to such scams. In fact, most scam victims are people who are trying something new or trying to find a way out of their current situation.
Just take this story as an example, the person is desperately looking for a job and was so lost that he didn't even bother to check the company's letterhead. The truth is no one is immune to scams. We all have venerabilities.

Alright, That being said. I am here with an update on the second contest. I am very happy to announce that I received 27 entires for the contest. I mean I am not happy that people got scammed but I am happy that people want to spread awareness about the various scams. I am still going through the entries and hoping to announce the winner by coming Sunday.
