Festive Season
Festive season firing up down here in Australia. Hope everyone is enjoying themselves; whatever cultural celebrations takes their fancy. I wont be spending a heap of time on social media over the next week. But super excited for 2022 and everything that it has the potential to bring. LFG !!
Even though I grew up with Christmas falling over summer in the Southern Hemisphere I have had enough cultural brainwashing from the Northern Hemisphere to think of a Snow and and Reindeer when I think of Christmas. So here are a few Mountain Cariboo shots in the snow that I have taken while living in Canada. Closest shots I have to European reindeer ;-)

Have a good one, fren!
Living in London and experiencing xmas and winter there was like "oooh, now it makes sense". Australia needs to celebrate the solstice and the birth of the Sun in June. We have too much seasonal culture from the North
We normally have a pagan bonfire at the solstice at our property
For both or just the winter?
I guess a massive bonfire in the bush during summer isn't the best idea
Just winter; summer is not the time for fires in this country ;-)
Super excited for which year?
a tad paranoid about having gotten dates wrong all this time XD
We just need to bombard images of summery Christmases XD
Love the second and last shots the most I think, the second one looks like postcardy and the last one looks like they're bros mucking about even though they're probably fighting to the death or something XD
Lol have fixed the year ;-)
Yep; lots of caribou around here where I live, just south of Canada. While our Moose attract all of the attention, caribou while smaller, are just as feisty, if not more so, than their larger cousins, the Moose.
I would be happy to winter in Australia, though. Happy to swap with you. lol
Thanks for sharing your post!
Cheers!
Which part of the US are you based in?
Northeast. Maine. Lots of Caribou, Moose, Deer, and other game...
Yes you would have arctic Caribou over there. These are central mountain caribou and classified as endangered; only about 400 of them left in the Canadian Rockies :-(
