Mini umboxing parte 2: Entre hilos de algodón, combinaciones y Bambú / Between cotton yarns, combinations and bamboo

Si te encanta tejer o tienes curiosidad en aprender a tejer, de seguro que te pasó esto. Recuerdo al retomar en el tejido, compraba una madeja de cada color. Bueno, como recién iba aprendiendo al inicio compraba lanas sencillas y cuando se terminaba la madeja, en algunas ocasiones no encontraba el color para volver a comprarlo o sino en las mismas tiendas solo vendían una madeja de ese tono de color. Ante eso, analizaremos algunas alternativas.

If you love knitting or you are curious to learn how to knit, this probably happened to you. I remember when I started knitting again, I used to buy one skein of each colour. Well, as I was just learning how to knit, at the beginning I used to buy simple yarns and when the skein was finished, sometimes I couldn't find the colour to buy it again or in the same shops they only sold one skein of that colour. Against this background, we will look at some alternatives.

Luego, navegando por la internet, descubrí que para los amigurumis se utilizan más los hilos de algodón y no tanto los acrílicos (como pensaba). Es allí cuando en Perú recién iniciaba (según mi experiencia) incorporar al mercado gamas de colores en hilos de algodón. En ese tiempo los amigurumis eran aún desconocidos. En la actualidad, las empresas están diversificando y sacando más colores.

Por ejemplo, en la imagen izquierda se aprecia dos lilas claros, cuando preguntaba por ellos se habían acabado y yo decía ¿ahora cómo tejo la flor de camote? (jaja). Y en el lado derecho se aprecia los tonos de posibles colores de piel. En particular, eso de los tonos de color de piel es un tema aparte. En un inicio solo había el color melón como opción para la piel y no se ve mal. Aunque, pronto utilizaré más estos otros tonos en personajes específicos.

Then, surfing the internet, I discovered that for amigurumis, cotton yarns are used more and not so much acrylics (as I thought). That's when Peru was just starting (according to my experience) to incorporate into the market a range of colours in cotton yarns. At that time amigurumis were still unknown. Nowadays, companies are diversifying and bringing out more colours.

For example, in the picture on the left you can see two light lilacs, when I asked for them, they had run out and I said, "Now how do I weave the sweet potato flower? (haha). And on the right side you can see the tones of possible skin colours. In particular, the skin colour tones are a separate issue. At the beginning there was only the melon colour as an option for the skin and it doesn't look bad. Soon, though, I'll be using more of these other shades on specific characters.

Hoy en día es más común el tema de “Salvemos al planeta” o “El planeta somos todos”, por ello a la línea #Astral se le ocurrió combinar hilos reciclados (40%) con algodón orgánico (60%). Para probarlos tejí unas calabazas y no es como lo esperaba. Siento que le falta más consistencia, es decir las hebras están algo sueltas entre sí y eso incomoda al momento de tejer amigurumis, puede ser que para otros tejidos sí funcione. Eso no desmerita el buen acabado, en este caso el amigurumi.

Nowadays the theme "Save the planet" or "The planet is all of us" is more common, so the #Astral line came up with the idea of combining recycled yarns (40%) with organic cotton (60%). To test them I knitted some pumpkins and it's not as I expected. I feel that it lacks more consistency, that is to say, the strands are a bit loose together and that makes it uncomfortable when knitting amigurumis, maybe for other fabrics it would work. That doesn't detract from the good finish, in this case the amigurumi.

La línea #Qaytu , además de ser ecoamigable tiene tonos de colores únicos. Ese fue uno de los motivos por los que me animé a probarlos.
Con este hilo tejí unas quinuas y si bien el color no es tan uniforme, seguiré probando para dar mis conclusiones.

The #Qaytu line, in addition to being eco-friendly, has unique colour tones. That was one of the reasons why I decided to try them.
With this yarn I knitted some quinuas and although the colour is not so uniform, I will keep trying to give my conclusions.

Si bien en otros países es muy utilizado, hace poco entró al mercado peruano con #Silvia las fibras de Bambú como otra alternativa para los tejedores. Hago la aclaración que sería fibra, no hilo y mucho menos lana (creo que este tema será para otro post). Según el grosor, para esto utilizaré el crochet de 3 ó 3.5mm, eso dependerá de cómo irá quedando el tejido mientras teja.

Although it is widely used in other countries, Bamboo fibres have recently entered the Peruvian market with #Silvia as another alternative for weavers. I make the clarification that it would be fibre, not yarn and much less wool (I think this topic will be for another post). Depending on the thickness, for this I will use the 3 or 3.5mm crochet, that will depend on how the fabric will be knitted while knitting.
