First Service Message

  • Feeding your soul with the right words; a growth to spiritual maturity.
3 John 1:2: Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well

Maturity is knowing the right thing and doing it without being forced or directed. Maturity is taking responsibility for every action. Spiritual maturity is growing the fullness of the gospel, and bringing others to know the gospel of Christ. So the soul fed on information it received, the wrong information tent to thwart or hindered the soul the growing to maturity. So also, the body grow with the kind of food that a person is eating. The nutrients in the food tent to nourish the body. The grow can only take place when the right nutrition is taken otherwise known as balance diet. In same vein, the spirit grows by hearing and reading God's words, the gospel of Christ, the soul needs to feed on God's word in order to grow.

Second Service Message

  • Travail to Greatness
1 Chronicles 4:9-10: Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

The second service was full of prayer sections, people were grouped into three. Though Jabez was more honorable than his brethren, there was some limitations in his life. His name connote sorrow, pains and humiliation. He has to pray his life out of situation. Jabez was made to be honourable, he was honorable at all facet than his brethren but he was hindered by limitations due to predicament.

Genesis 35:16-18: Then they moved on from Bethel. While they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and had great difficulty. And as she was having great difficulty in childbirth, the midwife said to her, “Don’t despair, for you have another son.” As she breathed her last—for she was dying—she named her son Ben-Oni. But his father named him Benjamin.

When Benjamin was born, his mother named him "Ben-Oni", meaning, "Son of Sorrow", but it took God's intervention for his father to Jacob to change Benjamin's name to "God of Right-Hand". Benjamin was meant to be great but his mother's situation gave him Ben-Oni, son of sorrow, which needs to be travail for greatness. Benjamin was great through his father's intervention, Jabez was was great and honorable because he prayed through.

Also, series of prayers was offered for Nigeria. Nigeria is faced with series of attacks ranging from banditry, terrorists and Boko Haram. Nigeria is blessed with natural resources but there internal war going on. The church prayed for God's intervention for the country for peace to reign.
Psalm 109:31: For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.
