Unforgettable architecture [eng/esp]

My last post for this community that brings together lovers of architecture and design, and all those who dream of a world tinged with structures, colors and shapes, describes the places I found on my walk through some streets of Havana's 5th Avenue. And that walk was triggered by the impact caused in me by the facade of the Jesus de Miramar Church located on the corner of 82nd Street, which I decided to enter on one of the days of recess for the end of the year, and today I show you that the building is as beautiful inside as outside.

The church began its construction in 1948 and was inaugurated in May 1953. Its architectural structure is made of reinforced concrete with a cement coating. In one of the lateral entrances of the church there is an informative poster where I could obtain the main historical data of the building.
I really liked the lighting and the cool temperature of the place, the ceiling is very high, the windows are made of glass and there are stained glass windows that play with the colors white, red and blue fundamentally; which allows daylight to flood the space and transmits a very pleasant feeling of peace and harmony. The semicircular arches are wide. I consider that its design was very well thought because it is a very large temple with capacity for hundreds of people; in fact it is the second largest temple in Cuba.

The floor is kept very clean which allows us to enjoy its permanent shine and play with the idea that we are walking on a colored mirror. The construction of the floor was made with terrazzo in situ.
The walls of the temple are adorned with brightly colored paintings reflecting biblical passages. I found the borders on the walls with images of birds drinking water very striking. I also liked very much a kind of fountain guarded by three angels that is very close to the baptismal font, which is made of marble.

During my tour I was able to talk a little with the Father of the church who was busy with the organization of the festivities for the advent of Christmas, but he dedicated a little of his time to me and told me with great pride that the church treasures a very nice story about the first pilgrims who came to the country and fought against slavery. He also invited me to go outside the church to visit the grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, whose festivities are celebrated in February.

The visit to the Jesús de Miramar church has been one of the moments I enjoyed the most in these last days of the year, because besides having an architecture that attracts for its magnificence and state of preservation, it is a place full of tranquility and love.

Friend @indipnash91, I was moved by those images and seeing how you experienced that passage through the church, those shine on the floors, those immense hallways and the statues sculpted with such delicacy and precision in marble, in addition to those high ceilings and above all those columns semicircular shapes that fascinate me, a delight to the eye. Incredibly I have never been in and look, I have seen people inspired by it, I have to visit it and see all that beauty up close ❤️

Photos sometimes fail to convey 100% of the energy and beauty of a place; I really recommend you to visit, you will be inspired. We have a small architectural treasure very close to us.

It is simply beautiful! the details, I love churches and it gives me a lot of emotion to see that there are so many people who maintain this place. What a nice piece of information the father gave you about the fight against slavery. You can feel so much love and peace just by looking at them!
