Rising from the ashes

Nowadays Barcelona has recovered a little bit.
But six months ago, it almost collapsed. They were relegated from the Champions League to the Uefa League, they were doing very badly in the league. After the arrival of Xavi, although there were some setbacks at the beginning, I think it is one of the biggest candidates for the La Liga championship again next season. So I wanted to rebuild Barcelona in Fifa 22 and make it rise from the ashes. In general, there was a need for transfers to the defensive line and offensive zone.
Here are the transfers I made this season:

Messi was the best player of this team for years and I think it was a mistake to let him leave. My biggest transfer was to bring him back.

Obviously, something happened here that surprised me but didn't contradict with real life and we were relegated from our Champions League group to the Uefa Europa League.

From here on I will tell you about our Uefa Europa League adventure.

We faced Leicester City in the qualifying round. Although we lost the first match 2-3 at home, we won the second match 1-3 away from home and qualified.

In the round 16 we were paired with Olympique Lyonnais and we drew 1-1 away and then 2-2 at home. We eliminated them 4-3 in the penalty shootout and advanced to the next round.

In the quarterfinals we were paired with a relatively easy opponent. We beat Royal Antwerp 2-3 away and 4-1 at home to qualify for the next round.

Our opponent in the semifinal was Club Brugge. First we beat them 2-1 at home and then 2-3 away to reach the final. I was really excited. We were only one game away from the cup.

Our opponent in the final was Napoli. I followed the match from the simulation. We dominated the match from start to finish. We won 1-0 with Lewandowski's goal in the 7th minute and became the Uefa Europa League champion 🏆!

At the end of the season we finished 2nd in La Liga with 78 points behind Real Madrid.It would be unfair to the team to consider this a failure or success for the first season, but I think we could have done better.

Ferran Torres was the team's top scorer and that surprised me.

Messi showed his class and was the team's assist king.

Frankie showed good improvement throughout the season and was the most valuable player of the team. He is worth 155,5 million euros 😲
