Alright. Getting back on the Freewrite train. @stinawog said she’d freewrite if I did. I missed 28 days. Wow. That’s a lot to miss. And part of me wants to go back and try to catch up, but another part of me would use the overwhelmingness of that task to not do them. So screw it, now I’m just one of you plebes. No longer the freewriter with the current longest streak. I believe I still hold the record. 791+days of freewriting without any interruptions (except when the ‘chain was down). It’s nice to walk among the common folk and see how they live.

What are we talking about today? Vertical antennae? I’ll tell you a story about a vertical antenna. It begins in the far back time. Before I was born. Before any of you were even born. It begins… with a song.

Radio oh radio-ho ho.
Hear it crackle on the radio-hoho
Cheers to the millenium. The one that began in nineteen oh one.
Hear the scrape scrape scrape of paper on bristle.
What we have for music can be described in a whistle.

Beautiful rendition of the first question asked by the first radio listener. It comes down to us in the archives without the music, but I think you can hear it, yes? The words have a lyricality to them. Such are the arts of the past. Well, you can imagine it was less than a decade before the first vertical antenna was invented. Curious how that came to be? Yes, it is a curiousity. In fact. It was the greasers, who had taken to fighting with long narrow strips of metal, much like the fencing foils of bygone days, who incidentally and accidentally pierced the radios and hear tunes they liked so much they started dance fighting instead of violence fighting, and then they fell in love, and that’s how we got West Side Story. True fact.

Yeah, there must have been something in the air... I think I struggled about the same time as you (although I got my plebe badge before you, having given up on trying to catch up on the freewrites I'd missed).

Hey @improv 100% upvote to make up for that down vote.....it isn't the same but better than doing nothing....speaking of which... I will posting about the down vote bandit soon...and what we can do about it since he is adamant about down voting SBI users and supporters, I am adamant about countering that....it will be an up hill battle but I think we can at least put up a nice little battle to hold our own against this down voter.
