Hello friends, how are you?

Yes, I know it's been a while since I wrote here, but I've had quite a few issues to solve, so I haven't found the time to make some posts to share here. I hope to be more precise and punctual in this period, but I really wanted to share some photos I took in Castelrotto, also known as Kastelruth in German. Honestly, I don't even know how to pronounce it in German. I thought a bit about making this post about this place because I don't remember if I had already told you about this beautiful village that I have visited often in the past.

As I have mentioned several times, I am not a super enthusiast of history and art; I prefer nature much more. However, let's say that I am very fond of this place, which is located in Trentino Alto Adige, about 25 km from Bolzano. In my opinion, its charm lies not only in being a small village but also in the breathtaking views and, above all, the opportunity to find various accommodations and restaurants where you can taste local delicacies.

As you can see from the photos, I took them in the summer because I usually come at this time to escape the stifling heat of Milan. However, someone told me that it's also beautiful to come here during Christmas, with a lovely atmosphere. It's something I've set my mind to try sooner or later.

Castelrotto is practically in South Tyrol, and this region has a strong Germanic influence due to its history under the Austro-Hungarian Empire for several years. Therefore, two languages are spoken here. Above all, what has always struck me about these areas is the impeccable order and cleanliness, which is very different from Italy.

Certainly, this place is ideal for exploring the Dolomites. In fact, many tourists, as well as Italians, choose it as a base. Many of my friends who are mountain enthusiasts usually stay here to have easier access to trails and activities such as hiking on the Alpe di Siusi, for example.

I must say, though, that the times I have stayed in this place, I found it quite expensive. In my opinion, sometimes it's more convenient to choose Bolzano because it's much more affordable, even though it's quite a distance from here.

In conclusion, I hope you liked the photos I shared, and I can say that Castelrotto is truly an enchanting village located in the Dolomites. I think it's an ideal destination not only for mountain enthusiasts but also for people who want to discover the traditions and numerous activities that can undoubtedly be done here.

Goodbye, everyone, and see you soon!

Wow!
This is a part of Italy that, for some reason, I missed so far. I'm currently living in Sardinia, but if I move to northern Italy in the next years (probable) I would love to have a little place just for me there. I had heard this name, Castelrotto, but I didn't know it so well.
Thank you for this post :)
