A SCAM STORY

The world is evolving and the rate at which fraud and scams are taking over is alarming, extra caution and care are required When it comes to securing funds and properties.

The more caution the more tricks scammers invent to rip people off their earnings and sometimes a little mistake can make you lose all you've worked for to scammers.

I will always learn from my friend's story he was the victim of scammers but his fast and smart response helped him to escape their claws though, he lost a little amount but that could have been much if he was not smart and acted fast.

It all happened while he tried making a transfer and he got debited and the receiving end was unable to receive the money he was frustrated and annoyed, he wanted to pay bills but could not and so he went on Twitter to rant and made a post about how his bank is not competent when it comes to transactions.

He knew the money had hung but the thought of waiting for fourteen working to be refunded just annoys him more so at that moment he was ready for a shortcut to lay down his complaint so that the money would be refunded.

And that right there was the moment for the scammers, that moment the prey was not thinking and would do anything they ask

It was not a planned work it was just a coincidence that the scammers would use to their benefits, and from the rant post he made on Twitter towards his bank he got a dm(direct message) from an account that claim to be helpful and was ready to help get his money back.

without thinking twice he made his complaint and the response from the account just seemed right to be a customer care and ready to help.

He was asked the date of the transaction, all the necessary information that would help him get his money, and the digit on his debit card, without hesitation, he gave them all up only for him to get a debit transaction immediately from his bank and then he snapped out of it and realize he might have fallen into scammers trap.

The scammers had no idea of how much was in his account so they could not withdrawal all immediately and instead were trying different amounts

And so he immediately went to his bank mail to send a mail for his account to be blocked so that no transaction would be made.

And the fast move he made to block his account which worked out well for him saved him from losing all the money in his account

It was a painful experience for him as he lost a little of his money but then he was able to escape.

sometimes even when we are pissed we just need to take a deep breath before taking some actions
i'm sure if he was a bit patient he wouldn't have been a victim and would have realized he was walking into a trap.

Extra caution goes a long way

A scammer's crime can happen anytime and anywhere. but we are required to always prevent and be careful so that these crime cases can be dammed early and avoid crimes in the future.

Oh wow, such a painful experience. Luckily he didn't lose all the money in his account. Scammers tend to feed off our desperation.

Yes, they always prey on people they find to be in dying need. It's a good thing your friend was a sharp guy.

So dreemer, how is the challenge going for you? Are your points going up? I'm sure they are.

You see, I've seen a lot of posts about scammers today and every single experience I read just shoes how deadly these scammers can be especially when they target someone. Once they get someone, they hardly give up until they get what they want.

I'm really glad your friend reacted quickly as it would have been a very different outcome. Hehe.

Thanks for sharing this on DreemPort

Yeah. One of the way to make sure many people are not victimized is for those that are already victimized to speak up about what they encountered.

For example, when you read most of the post people wrote about this topic, it gives exposure to the different schemes adopted by the scammers and it makes us more aware in case we find ourselves in similar sketchy situations.

Wow... good for him that he got to his senses fast enough or his account would have been emptied.

Hmmm! I have had a similar experience. I got a DM like he did and from dm they moved the chat to WhatsApp and asked for my card details. I had already gone to bring my card details when my sister asked me what i was doing? It was at that moment I came back to my senses. It was as I was hypnotized because the me I know never give out my card details to anyone and I know no bank customer care would ask for it. You should have seen how I rained curses on them on WhatsApp. I thank God my sister was at home to bring me to my senses. I would have lost a huge amount of money.

Exactly it all went down that way.
He had to block his account to save the rest of his money.

I can attest to the fact that when we are annoyed we are easy to become victims. I think our thinking abilities are hampered when we are annoyed.
Thanks to God that your friend got his senses and realized the scam. Something is better than nothing.

Anger is a very bad thing and if not carefully controlled can cost us much.

This is a classic story and it is sometimes surprising that some still fall for it. You can not trust giving our personal or bank details to anyone, that is careful. Luckily they couldn't do more damage to your friend. Good reflection invites everyone to be more attentive and to stay safe.
Let's keep dreaming at DreemPort.
