Viendo el catálogo de películas disponibles para pasar el domingo en la tarde viendo alguna película interesante, me encontré con la nueva película de Jennifer López que se estrenó a finales del mes de Diciembre de 2022.

Todo comienza con la boda de Jennifer López y Josh Duhamel en una isla privada en Filipinas, donde hay una fuerte presencia de piratas que arriban a las islas y cometen robos a los que se hospedan en ellas; momentos antes de iniciar la boda, un grupo armado invade la isla arruinando la ceremonia y causando un gran revuelo por lo que los novios deciden enfrentar la situación para recuperar el control de su día y rescatar a los invitados del peligro de los piratas.

It all begins with the wedding of Jennifer López and Josh Duhamel on a private island in the Philippines, where there is a strong presence of pirates who arrive on the islands and commit robberies to those who stay. in them; Moments before starting the wedding, an armed group invades the island, ruining the ceremony and causing a stir, so the couple decide to face the situation to regain control of their day and rescue the guests from the danger of the pirates.

La historia de la película está bastante bien presentada, me pareció bastante original el guión, lo del tema de la acción no ha sido nunca mi fuerte, pero lo integraron muy bien con el tema cómico y romántico de la película y fue un acierto, a mi parecer. Cumplió la película con su función, entretener por 1 hora y 40 minutos, aunque no haya sido entretenida del todo.

The story of the film is quite well presented, the script seemed quite original to me, the theme of action has never been my forte, but they integrated it very well with the comic and romantic theme of the film and it was a success, my opinion The film fulfilled its function, to entertain for 1 hour and 40 minutes, although it was not entirely entertaining.

La acción incluida en la película no fue excesiva, creo que estuvo bien balanceada; lo que no pude ver fue el romance en ella, creo que la acción y la comedia lograron opacar cualquier indicio de romance en el film. El cambio en la dinámica entre los papeles de novio despreocupado y novia alterada y estresada por la boda perfecta fue sin duda un giro que no esperaba, me gusto ese cambio en la dinámica habitual.

The action included in the film was not excessive, I think it was well balanced; what I couldn't see was the romance in it, I think the action and comedy managed to overshadow any hint of romance in the film. The change in the dynamic between the roles of carefree groom and bride stressed and upset by the perfect wedding was definitely a turn that I did not expect, I liked that change in the usual dynamic.

Hubo momentos flojos y algo innecesarios dentro de la película, una especie de relleno para cubrir con el tiempo de duración; las historias de los personajes secundarios aportó sustancia a la historia principal e incluso algunas de ellas, tenían conexión con la historia principal y con el sentir de los novios con respecto al matrimonio.

There were weak and somewhat unnecessary moments in the film, a kind of filler to cover with the duration; the stories of the secondary characters added substance to the main story and even some of them had a connection with the main story and with the feelings of the couple regarding the marriage.

Los momentos de comedia fueron de los mejores y la gran mayoría de ellos fueron proporcionados por Jennifer Coolidge; la mujer es una maquina de comedia, me encantó verla nuevamente en una película y haciendo tan buen papel, aunque su participación pudo haber sido mayor, pienso que valió la pena la película solo por verla actuar a ella.

The comedic moments were some of the best and the vast majority of them were provided by Jennifer Coolidge; The woman is a comedy machine, I loved seeing her again in a movie and playing such a good role, although her participation could have been greater, I think the movie was worth it just to see her act.

Todas sus escenas aportaron comedia y fueron entregadas con precisión. Una de mis escenas favoritas es la que se ve en la imagen, donde toma un arma y comienza a descargar el cartucho sin problema alguno, esa escena valió la pena y no me la esperaba en lo absoluto. Sin duda, un personaje que se desarrolló muy bien en la trama y no se sintió para nada forzado.

All of her scenes brought comedy and were delivered with precision. One of my favorite scenes is the one you see in the image, where he picks up a gun and starts to unload the cartridge without any problem, that scene was worth it and I didn't expect it at all. Undoubtedly, a character that developed very well in the plot and did not feel forced at all.

Una historia que se sintió forzada fue la de la hermana de Jennifer López en la película, su historia no aportó nada a la trama y aunque por un momento pudo haber surgido un buen momento de comedia entre ella y el padrino de la boda pero no lograron nada en pantalla ni en la trama.

One story that felt forced was that of Jennifer Lopez's sister in the film, her story didn't add anything to the plot and although for a moment there could have been a good moment of comedy between her and the godfather of the wedding but they did not achieve anything on the screen or in the plot.

Los efectos especiales, aunque no fueron muchos, los emplearon bien. No se sintieron excesivos ni muy exagerados como recurso, todos bien justificados. Las locaciones estuvieron increíbles, los paisajes fueron esenciales para la historia y dieron en el clavo filmando en ellos, el tema playero de la película influyó bastante en el atractivo de la film.

The special effects, although they were not many, they used them well. They didn't feel excessive or wildly over the top as a resource, all well justified. The locations were incredible, the landscapes were essential to the story and they hit the spot shooting in them, the beachy theme of the film played a big part in the appeal of the film.

La cantidad de maldiciones en el lenguaje de los personajes me pareció innecesaria en toda la película y hasta podría decir que excesiva. No creo que para que se entienda la situación en la que está desarrollada la película (un secuestro con amenaza de muerte), se necesite emplear tan frecuentemente tanta palabrería vulgar sin un fin justificado.

The amount of curses in the language of the characters seemed to me unnecessary throughout the film and I could even say excessive. I don't think that in order to understand the situation in which the film is developed (a kidnapping with death threat), it is necessary to use so frequently so much vulgar verbiage without a justified purpose.
