Esperaba que en algún momento pudiéramos hablar sobre alguna serie especial para nosotros en algunos de estos buenos concursos en la comunidad, pero no creí que cuando ocurriera tendríamos que hablar no solo de una serie favorita sino que también debería ser una serie de comedia. Que nos den la oportunidad de hablar de una serie favorita de comedia es abrir una puerta a un sinfín de emociones, porque las comedias encierran una cantidad interesante de emociones, sentimientos y expresiones físicas, no solo se quedan en las risas y los buenos chistes que hay en sus diálogos y eventos, tienen un abanico de recursos que utilizan muy bien y hacen que perduren en el tiempo.

That they give us the opportunity to talk about a favorite comedy series is to open a door to endless emotions, because comedies contain an interesting amount of emotions, feelings and physical expressions, they don't just stop at laughter and good jokes that there are in their dialogues and events, they have a range of resources that they use very well and make them last over time.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S no necesita introducción alguna, es una de las sitcoms más exitosas de los 90's y alcanzó batir records desde que se emitió por primera vez en la pantalla chica; desde entonces, se ha convertido en parte de la cultura pop del mundo entero, tanto así, que casi 20 años de su final, los fans aún continúan esperando una reboot de la serie.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S does not need any introduction, it is one of the most successful sitcoms of the 90's and managed to break records since it was first broadcast on the small screen; Since then, it has become part of pop culture around the world, so much so that almost 20 years after its end, fans are still waiting for a reboot of the series.

Se estrenó en el año 1994, solo 4 días después de haber cumplido mis 4 años de edad, y sin saberlo se convertiría en una de las series más relevantes en mi vida adulta. Comencé a ver la serie cuando tenía unos 11 años, a través del canal de tv "Warner Channel Latinoamérica", en su idioma original. Realmente no entendía mucho pero si me parecía interesante lo que podía ver y escuchar, era un idioma nuevo y eso me interesaba aún más que la serie.

It premiered in 1994, just 4 days after I turned 4 years old, and without knowing it, it would become one of the most relevant series in my adult life. I started watching the series when I was about 11 years old, through the TV channel "Warner Channel Latin America", in its original language. I didn't really understand much but what I could see and hear seemed interesting to me, it was a new language and that interested me even more than the series.

Aprendí inglés básico viéndolos a ellos, aprendí un poco de la jerga norteamericana y creí siendo parte de esa cultura que veía F.R.I.E.N.D.S después de que la serie concluyera en el 2004. Hubo un tiempo en mi vida en el que dejé de verla, pero cuando volví a retomarla, ya como adolescente/adulto, me terminó de enamorar lo que veía en la serie, se convirtió en parte de mi vida sin darme cuenta y me ayudó a entender algunas cosas sobre esos años en los que los protagonistas basaban sus vidas en la New York de los 90 a sus 20 tantos años.

I learned basic English by watching them, learned a bit of American _slang, and believed I was part of that culture that watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S after the series ended in 2004. There was a time in my life when I stopped to watch it, but when I returned to it again, as a teenager/adult, I ended up falling in love with what I saw in the series, it became part of my life without realizing it and it helped me understand some things about those years in which the protagonists based their lives on the New York of the 90s in their 20s.

En mis 20, me sentí muy identificado con algunos de los problemas con los que los 6 amigos se enfrentaban, pero el más relevante era el "¿qué voy a hacer con mi vida?", de ahí deriva mucho mi relación con la serie porque me dio a entender que no era una pregunta que solo a mi se me ocurría, le pasaba a ellos también, ellos también desconocían la respuesta, de paso estaban en medio de la ciudad que nunca duerme viviendo sus vidas descubriendo que pasaría mañana y buscando a su "lobster" algunos más intensamente que otros.

In my 20s, I felt very identified with some of the problems that the 6 friends faced, but the most relevant was "what am I going to do with my life?", from which my relationship with the series because it made me understand that it was not a question that only occurred to me, it happened to them too, they also did not know the answer, by the way they were in the middle of the city that never sleeps living their lives discovering what would happen tomorrow and looking for their "lobster" some more intensely than others.

Me reconocí en ellos, en sus personalidades, en especial en la de Chandler, en él centré mi atención porque era un reflejo para mi en ese momento, full de historias y anécdotas traumáticas que escondía detrás del sarcasmo y las risas para no enfrentar lo que le había pasado en la vida.

I recognized myself in them, in their personalities, especially that of Chandler, I focused my attention on him because he was a reflection for me at that time, full of stories and traumatic anecdotes that he hid behind sarcasm and laughter to not face what had happened to him in life.

Y por supuesto, las risas, que fueron hasta las lágrimas les puedo admitir, más de una vez lloré por reírme de un chiste, de una cara graciosa, de un silencio o de una situación que no se podía manejar de una manera normal sino que debía manejarse al mejor estilo F.R.I.E.N.D.S, fue un deleite reírme cada vez que los sintonizaba porque los escritores hicieron maravillas en cada episodio y nos dieron una cantidad de recuerdos y risas que hasta el día de hoy nos hacen eco en la memoria.

And of course, the laughter, which was to the point of tears I can admit, more than once I cried to laugh at a joke, a funny face, a silence or a situation that could not be handled in a normal way but it had to be handled in the best F.R.I.E.N.D.S style, it was a delight to laugh every time I tuned in because the writers did wonders in every episode and gave us a lot of memories and laughs that to this day echo us in the memory.

Una de mis episodios favoritos es cuando todos deciden ir a comprar tickets de lotería para probar "suerte" y ver si podían ganar el gran premio acumulado de esa semana. Fue increíblemente interesante ver la dinámica de todos en tan solo 2 locaciones durante más de 20 minutos de episodio y ver como la gracia y ocurrencia en esa situación fue puesta en pantalla me pareció increíblemente gracioso y lo recuerdo con muchas risas mientras escribo estas líneas.

One of my favorite episodes is when everyone decides to go buy lottery tickets to try their "luck" and see if they could win that week's big jackpot. It was incredibly interesting to see the dynamic of everyone in just 2 locations for more than 20 minutes of the episode and to see how the grace and humor in that situation was put on screen seemed incredibly funny to me and I remember it with many laughs as I write these lines.

También otros episodios que resaltan en mi memoria son los relacionados a festividades, cumpleaños, navidad, año nuevo, día de acción de gracias; en ellos siempre buscaban la manera de relacionar los eventos con historias personales de los personajes y si no lo hacía de esa forma, se presentaba una nueva historia relacionada con ese evento en particular. Esos episodios son los que tengo más frescos en mi mente.

Also other episodes that stand out in my memory are those related to festivities, birthdays, Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving; in them they always looked for a way to relate the events with personal stories of the characters and if they did not do it that way, a new story related to that particular event was presented. Those episodes are the ones that are freshest in my mind.

El personaje que más me impresionaba como actor era Lisa Kudrow, siempre reía con ella, es una actriz sumamente versátil y muy buena en su arte. Interpretó dos personajes en la serie, a "Phoebe" y a su hermana gemela "Úrsula", ambas muy diferentes pero mantenían una esencia muy divertida, la recuerdo más que nada por lo graciosa que fue durante todas las temporadas, su constancia en la comedia persistió desde la primera temporada hasta el final.

The character that impressed me the most as an actor was Lisa Kudrow, I always laughed with her, she is an extremely versatile actress and very good at her art. She played two characters in the series, "Phoebe" and her twin sister "Ursula", both very different but they had a very funny essence, I remember her more than anything because of how funny she was went through all seasons, his consistency in comedy persisted from the first season to the end.

Tengo cosas que agradecerle a F.R.I.E.N.D.S, algunas de esas cosas que aprendí con ellos hoy en día las aplico en mi vida y son herramientas que se han quedado plasmadas en mi; ellos estarán al tanto del impacto que la serie dejó en la historia de la TV pero no creo que aún comprendan el alcance que tuvieron en la vida de millones de personas que siguieron sus aventuras hasta el último día que todos tuvimos que entregar las llaves del apartamento de Mónica porque debíamos continuar con nuestras vidas.

I have things to thank F.R.I.E.N.D.S, some of those things that I learned with them today I apply in my life and they are tools that have stayed with me; they will be aware of the impact that the series left on the history of TV but I don't think they still understand the impact they had on the lives of millions of people who followed their adventures until the last day we all had to hand over the keys to the apartment from Monica because we had to get on with our lives.
