Para el tema de películas con un padre prominente les quiero hablar de la película más reciente que vi y que está relacionada directamente con la temática, ya que ese padre prominente es el protagonista de esta película con su hija, narrando una historia interesante entre la relación de ambos.

Esta película fue estrenada este año a través del servicio streaming de Amazon y habla sobre la vida de un padre soltero llamado Max (interpretado por John Cho) que tiene que lidiar con problemas de salud graves que le impiden continuar haciéndose cargo de su hija adolescente; es por ello que ambos se embarcan en una aventura para pasar un fin de semana diferente pero buscando en realidad el viaje es una excusa para ir tras la pista de la madre natural Wally (nombre del personaje interpretado por Mia Isaac).

Elegí esta película no solo porque es la más reciente que he visto sobre este tema sino por el desarrollo de la historia durante toda la película. Las situaciones en las que ambos se vieron involucrados en ese tiempo que transcurrió les sirvió para unirse un poco más, conocerse más allá de lo superficial y hablar como 2 personas honestas sobre eventos y situaciones que ocurrieron en sus vidas.

I chose this movie not only because it is the most recent I have seen on this subject but because of the development of the story throughout the film. The situations in which both were involved in that time that passed helped them to unite a little more, get to know each other beyond the superficial and talk like 2 honest people about events and situations that occurred in their lives.

A veces es necesario atravesar desiertos para poder llegar a ver la tierra prometida, y eso fue lo que exactamente ocurrió con este par. Se pudo ver como restauraron su relación como padre e hija y se dieron la oportunidad de asegurarse que las cosas iban a cambiar desde ese momento en adelante y todo era para mejorar la relación que habían dejado atrás.

Sometimes you have to cross deserts to see the promised land, and that's exactly what happened with this pair. You could see how they restored their relationship as father and daughter and gave each other the opportunity to make sure that things were going to change from that moment on and everything was to improve the relationship they had left behind.

No vemos muchas de estas historias en el cine y deberían haber más. Tengo un padre con que comparto una relación estable, a veces chocamos en muchas cosas y tenemos problemas como cualquier otra relación de padre e hijo pero sé y entiendo que a pesar de todo lo que pueda ocurrir, mi padre seguirá siendo mi padre y nada lo cambiará.

We don't see many of these stories in the movies and there should be more. I have a father with whom I share a stable relationship, sometimes we clash on many things and have problems like any other father-son relationship, but I know and understand that despite everything that may happen, my father will continue to be my father and nothing will switch to.

Dios nos da la oportunidad de corregir nuestros errores y hacer bien lo que hicimos mal y eso aplica en las relaciones padres e hijos también, ningún padre es perfecto, mucho menos los hijos, pero debemos hacer el esfuerzo de enderezar lo que está torcido y así poder afianzar los lazos que existen en nuestra relación padre e hijo.
