For this week's contest I had a hard time choosing a favorite villain from a movie, since very few times I can like a character with villain characteristics; the most real option for me, until now, has been the villain that I bring for this contest, "Cruella".

Para el concurso de esta semana si me costó elegir un villano favorito de una película, ya que muy pocas son las veces en las que puede gustarme un personaje con características de villano; la opción más real para mi, hasta ahora, ha sido la villana que traigo para este concurso, "Cruella".

It is the movie with a villain that I remember seeing recently and that remained in my memory as one of the villains that I have remembered the most and I think I will remember forever in a movie, it was a very good movie and I hope that if you have not seen it still, go and see it because it's unbelievably cool.

Es la película con una villana que recuerdo haber visto recientemente y que quedó en mi memoria como una de las villanas que más he recordado y creo que recordaré por siempre en una película, fue una muy buena película y espero que si no la han visto aún, vayan y la vean porque es increíblemente genial.

"Cruella" is a film based on the life of the famous Disney villain "Cruella de Vil" from "101 Dalmatians". Having made her own movie speaks to how powerful her resonance was in the 1961 animated film; although he has taken them 60 years to take it to the movies.

The story of "Cruella" in this movie talks about her as a person and what she was before she became that villain who has an obsession with fashion, especially with the fur of Dalmatian dogs. It was possible to know her history from the beginning of her and what led her to become that evil person and with little empathy towards others, but it was only a facade to cover up her true person.

La historia de "Cruella" en esta película habla de ella como persona y lo que fue antes de convertirse en esa villana que tiene una obsesión por la moda, en especial por la piel de los perros dalmatas. Se pudo conocer su historia desde el inicio y lo que la llevó a convertirse en esa persona malvada y con poca empatía hacia los demás, pero solo era una fachada para encubrir su verdadera persona.

Knowing the background of her personality and the evil character she created, makes her worthy, in my opinion, of becoming my favorite villain, although it is really hard for me to see her now as a villain knowing her life story, without a doubt, in the version of 1996, it was.

Conocer el trasfondo de su personalidad y del personaje malvado que creó, la hace merecedora, a mi parecer, de convertirse en mi villana favorita, aunque realmente me cuesta verla ahora como una villana conociendo su historia de vida, sin duda, en la versión de 1996, lo fue.

Is "Cruella" my favorite villain? After the 2021 version, she certainly is now more than ever. With the performance of "Glenn Close" I had certainly left a mark on my film history, but now, I think it's even more marked. She is a character that few I have heard that they can hate, even being a villain, you find something that makes you love her and hope that everything will work out for her at the end of the day.

¿Es "Cruella" mi villana favorita? Después de la versión del 2021, sin duda lo es ahora más que nunca. Con la actuación de "Glenn Close" sin duda había dejado una marca en mi historial fílmico, pero ahora, creo que está aún más marcado. Es un personaje al que pocos he escuchado que pueden odiar, aún siendo una villana, encuentras algo que te hace quererla y esperar que todo le salga bien al final del día.

Humanizing her as a person first before presenting her in the film as a villain, I think it was key for many of us to understand where her fame as a villain came from and they managed to do it very well, it resonated with many people to know everything she suffered before becoming what what is now. Personally, it made me empathize with her and understand a little why she ended up being what she is.

Humanizarla como persona primero antes de presentarla en el film como una villana, creo que fue clave para que muchos entendiéramos de donde venía su fama de villana y lo lograron hacer muy bien, resonó en muchas personas conocer todo lo que padeció antes de convertirse en lo que es ahora. Personalmente me hizo empatizar con ella y entender un poco el por qué terminó siendo lo que es.

I don't see similarities between her and me, beyond the pain that we as humans go through, the loss of loved ones, even the rejection of others can be a point where we can all find ourselves because we have been through it; I think beyond that, I can't fit in with anything else related to her. It might be interesting to be in a movie with her, to be able to witness some of her acts of rebellion against society, but nothing extreme.

No veo similitudes entre ella y mi persona, más allá del dolor que como humanos atravesamos, la perdida de seres queridos, incluso el rechazo de otros puede ser un punto en el que todos podemos encontrarnos porque hemos pasado por eso; creo que más allá de eso, no logro encajar con nada más relacionado a ella. Podría ser interesante estar en una película con ella, poder presenciar algunos de sus actos de rebelión contra la sociedad, pero nada extremo.

She's a cool villain and I like that about her; I can't judge her now knowing her past, sympathizing with who she is because of that past, that's why I chose her as my favorite villain and I hope to see more of her in the second part of the movie when it is released.

Es una villana cool y eso me gusta de ella; no puedo juzgarla ahora conociendo su pasado, simpatizando con quien es a causa de ese pasado, por eso la elegí como mi villana favorita y espero poder ver más de ella en la segunda parte de la película cuando sea estrenada.
